how long ago was the suspension? if it was over 39 months ago you can get it purged off your record. It takes about 4-6 weeks. im waiting for mine to be cleared as we speak. once cleared ill be rolling with KLLM.

Unless you have some kind of specific problems, there are plenty of companies out there that will hire you. Sometimes its a bit slower during the holidays, but be patient.
As far as England? I've never worked there, I can't say first hand, but usually where there's smoke, there's fire.

Take a look at some of the threads on here about initial entry into the company. Most Stories are quite similar and can be categorized into about 3 phases. phase 1- Training goes well and they are happy about going with england, phase 2- they are forced into a flease or a team driving lease program and are a little turned off by that but go for it anyway, phase 3- utter financial ruin. :biggrin_2553:

I would personally exercise all options before going england but thats just me.

    Good luck man

You forgot "Phase 1.5"....."Yeah, everybody ELSE failed, but they weren't as smart as me and your all dummies and I am going to make millions at CRE"....Yes, THAT phase.

It's all about attitude. It's gonna be tough most places you go until you get some experience. At 6 months, new doors open. At one year, many better choices are available. At 2 years you can pretty well pick where you want to work with a good record.

I would approach it like going into the Army. Basic training is going to be hell, but it gets better in time. The right attitude and it's all fun. I had so much fun seeing the country the first time, the rest didn't matter. The day I paid my loan off I quit and got a better job. 6-12 months goes by quick anyways.

I think "Condo" hit on the head! As Earl Nightengale said "Attitude is the Magic Word" I'm a big fan of community colleges, often much cheaper then the for profit schools like Swift and England, often these state schools have higher standards and more seat time. you might look here about 45 mins fro your location?
    http://www.llcc.edu/Default.aspx?alias=www.llcc.edu/tdtc

Also if you go with one of the big carriers like England, keep checking their websites weekly! I see their price goes from $500 if you start on a certain date all the way to $3600!!! The flavor of the day is this week is 50% off ($1395) if your avaiable to start this week (12/12). My neighbors showed me one week where it was down to $500. So be smart, if thats your choice. Heck with my community college, it was not even $1000 (with grant money)........PTDI certified, 220+ hours and lots of driving time and I was able to keep my part time job and sleep at home with my family for all 8-9 weeks I was in training. Just some ideas.

Have you tried other starter companies, Stevens, Roehl, Prime or Millis?

If you live east of the Mississippi Millis is a good company. Read all the threads here and I mean ALL about different companies. Don't make an uninformed decision. You can do a lot better than England IMHO.

DO NOT LIE ON ANY APPLICATION, when you get caught in a lie you're sent home. If you're not sure if you have tickets, get a copy of your MVR. Make sure the application you fill out in training matches the info
of the online application. You will have to explain any discrepancies between the two.

Make sure you won't test positive on the whizz quiz. Too many knuckleheads go to training and get sent home because they failed whizz quiz.

Read this forum about different companies. Knowledge is power.

If you're able get your CDL from your local community college and escape being an indentured servant.
