medical exams for drivers

No I just did mine a couple weeks ago..the doc is not there to feel you up and make you cough, it goes like this.

You show up at a doctors office or a walk in clinic with a form from the insurance company

1: nurse gives you an eye test, left eye/right eye / both eyes - getting you to stand about 3m away from a sign that you read the letters on -

2: you see a doc who does a blood pressure test, then checks your peripheral vision and has you keep your head straight while you follow his finger around the front of your face with your eyes.

3: you get asked if you're on any medication, any pre-exhisting conditions.

If there is nothing to check and your eyes are ok, the form is signed...

so don't worry, no-one gives you the rubber glove treatment.

 

They don't check for hernia's in Canada?

 

i had one and lady doc made me pull down my pants and cough and she well said nice u have a nice y know.

 

Only 'cough' test I ever had was before joining the Military. I've never had one for a CDL.

If you're offered a free colon test, why not take it ? How old are you ?

To answer the question, I've NEVER heard of a DOT colon test.

On a side note - It's kinda funny to see the words 'colon' and 'DOT' in the same sentence. Maybe it's just me ......

It's on the US exam. It has been my experience that sometimes the doctor actually checks, sometimes they only ask.

I don't know if it is necessarily a disqualifier as far as the DOT is concerned, but I bet there are companies that want nothing to do with someone who has one...

 

what the heck is a colon test ??

you have to fill a cup ???

Now THAT'S a good point Driver !!!! Maybe they peek inside with a tongue depressor to see if you actually have one ??

That sounds like a ' dear playboy... you'll never guess what happened to me but this one time...... '

And I forgot, they looked in my ears for some reason.. but no.. as I mentioned before, no close inspections under the pants.
