I brought food as a trainee, but I asked my trainer first. All went well. We even bought stuff to make snacks and lunches and shared it to save space in the cooler.

While I've not been a drive so long as many, after 4 yearsI think I qualify as "not a rookie " to this day, i eat mayb one meal a week in a restaurant. I eat out of my fridge...which I stock weekly for about twice the cost of my a meal inside.

as for essentials...I've seen many great suggestions...but nobody yet has mentioned a good back scratcher . I'll give up my phone before I leave my scratcher behind .

Oh I disagree about the briefcase. bring one. just make sure you can kept all your paperwork, logs, rule books, and what-have-you inside. fold a #### or two on top and they make excellent pillows.

Will the company advance you money before you start driving so you'll have money for food?

I have feeling that would differ from company to company... With Central we were 'refunded' $100 (for what I can't remember) and so had that on our Comdata card... That would be a good question to ask the company you will be training with though... I would suggest though, if you can, bring some cash anyway just in case.

    Everett Thanks this.
