How is CoPilot running on Vista? Any problems? CoPilot support say that a new version is coming out in Sept. with new fixes for vista. Don't know the cost yet.

I run copilot truck on both my pocketpc phone (treo 700w) but also have it for my laptop that runs Vista.

for the graphics, I had to run Vista using the Software compatability wizard and set it down to XP sp2 settings. worked fine then.

I hadn't heard of the CoPilot update in Sept, but will keep my eye open for it. thnx.

There's two versions of Vista, one is a 32 bit and the other is a 64 bit. I think the 64 bit version is the 'Vista Ultimate' but not entirely sure. If you have the 32 bit version, Co-Pilot should run with your laptop. If you have the 64 bit version, then you just have to wait for a Co-Pilot version that is compatible with 64 bit computing. I was curious too so I just went around their site and found this page: http://www.alk.com/store/whats_included.asp?sku=CPT9US

To check whether you have the 32 bit or the 64 bit version of vista you can go to this page: http://www.alk.com/store/32bit.asp

Vista Home, Premium and Ultimate come both in 32 and 64 bit versions. the difference of that is whether or not the processor in the computer is 32 or 64 bit

Thank you for clarifying that up PlainTruckinCrazy :D I just never knew all Vista versions has a 64 bit edition. The 64 bit architecture hasn't yet entered the mainstream market because of hardware and software incompatibilities, I think it's safe to say that most consumer Laptops in offer today is still 32 bits. :)

Anyways, going back to the subject, before you invest on a Co-Pilot software, I think you should check if you do have 32 or 64 bit architecture by simply follow the steps on this link: http://www.alk.com/store/32bit.asp

PS-Do you have any option if the 64 bit architecture is backwards compatible? I mean if you have the option to run it in 32 bits instead of 64 bits?
