08, 09, 10, 11 and 12 trailers refer to the model year of the equipment. Of course, that does not apply to 14 trailers, which are all 14' hi-cubes. Not sure what Swift will do with model year 14. Buy all 14' trailers, perhaps?

I got an oddball one today. 730101, its a 1998 duraplate with the older Swift logo on the side, like the T trailers. Tandems sure were a pain on it, fought then for 30 minutes, one pin was out of whack from the others, 3 pins would be wanting to go forward, one back, then the opposite. Ended up pulling and vice gripping the handle 1/4" or so at a time. Not looking forward to having to slide them back at the Costco store tomorrow.

That used to be a 57 footer which Swift cut back to 53. Probably why you had trouble sliding the tandems too. Possibly not put back square.

    Injun Thanks this.

Why does it always take 2+ hrs to get word back on where to go to get an mt?!?
And then it's usually 2+ hrs round-trip to get it.
So next pickup is 5 miles away.
But now 4+ hrs of my day are gone.....
And you want it delivered by when? HA!

I saw a PAM truck pulling a Swift wagon today. Guess they are giving away trailers to anyone who wants one :biggrin_2554:

Or maybe PAM is buying Swift :biggrin_2555:

Thats interesting, did you really see a PAM Truck pulling a Swift trailer or joking?? I am a PAM driver and have never heard of that at all unless its some type of dedicated thing...

I know we pull LGSI, Wal-mart (some places), Fed-Ex, UPS, and think those are it other than our old trailers they bought out some small companys.

Hopefully there isn't any type of merger happening between these two which I am positive there wouldnt be. Anyways good luck to you all finding trailers. Its not any better at my carrier, with most trailers being loaded/preloaded and unavailable.

Anyways I somehow randomly got into this thread without even clicking Swift, I will "RUN" before I get shot out of here. You all have fun and good luck to all the Swift runners, just wanted to comment towards that PAM mention.

    Have a great day,
    -Rick

There are MT's all over, but it is just trying to get one. Swift has these agreements with many large contracts, and they have to have so many in there, "in their pool", just look at Costco, drive in with a loaded trailer, and you think that it would be easy to get a MT, nope, not going to happen. Reminds me when I used to pull for Best Buy, bring in a fully loaded trlr, and you could not take a mt out. Glad that I have a place that is close to the home that I can get one when needed, and if I drop a ldd one in Cols, if they have an MT, they would let me take one home.

Yes, I really saw it, though I was joking about the buyout. It was on the PA turnpike this morning.

That PAM was probably hauling a UPS or FedEx load in one of the trailers they leased from Swift. While under lease, the trailer still carries the Swift name and logo, but for all effects and purposes, is just another UPS or FedEx trailer.
