getting a reman was my fault, I didn't even think to request a new clutch. They put a new flywheel on so I wouldn't think that would be part of the problem.

the shop that installed the clutch is 13mi from me and the shop that builds the clutches is 30miles away. this is the first time I've used this shop so I'm going to call them in the morning and see what I can get accomplished. I flat out refuse to run the clutch the way it is and hope it seats like they said it would.

Normally if it hangs in there for 90 days and then fails or if you are out of the area and it fails, it all falls on you.
    Best of luck to you.

Did you put an AG PARTS clutch in?

Something to check is did they forget to take the shipping bolts out?
It will act just like you described, how would I know. :(

I believe it was either an AG or AP(can't remember) that was made in Humboldt IA.

    Yes shipping bolts

its been seven or eight years ago and I don't remember the brand, but I do remember it having a bolt through the pressure plate between each mount.

It was a rush job. The boss bouncing up and down on one leg chewing on his nails kind of situation.

Actually he was helping and not being a bother, but you KNOW when he leaves the office to work in the shop things where getting critical.

Most of the new clutch installation problems Ive seen are flywheel related. I have seen flywheels cut and installed without checking them and they slip and never burn in!! After checking enough flywheels for people i found one of the local machine shops are doing a lousy job grinding the surface. Probably a problem with grinder\machine!! I also saw a new flywheel that was dished pretty bad at least the customer could just return it and get another one. There are a lot of things that could be wrong but just saying.Moral always check the flywheel yourself!!

Has anybody though about the fact one of the drive discs could be installed in the wrong direction? I saw one that was actually marked wrong from the factory. The springs in the hub interfere with a full plate load being applied to the pucks if this is the case.
