You are missing out on a ton of fun! The loads are what make flatbed so much more interesting.

Well just looked at my settlement... 3661 paid miles for last pay period. Wont be as good this week, unless I can get a couple more good runs in, but should still be over 2500. Heading back to the yard soon to pick up my permits, get some work done on the truck, and get my first PTC award Hopefully with many more to come. Not sure what I get, but hey, its still an award for bein on time everytime. Was almost 4 hours late for picking this current load up, but that wasnt my fault.... Dispatch said it picked up between 0001 n 2359, and that it was preloaded... Turns out the appointment was for 1500 and I had to wait like an hour to finish loading three coils, total weight 46,000+. Two of the three coils weigh over 18,000 pounds, but atleast nothing hangs over the end of my trailer... Last load of plastic pipe hung over almost 3 foot off the back, n like a foot off the front. Happy to be rid of that pipe, but miss how light it was. Last week I got 7mpg average due to hills n having to rush ASAP to pick up a few loads. Fleet average was 6.69mpg, so Im doin aight there. The reason for only the front being tarped, besides cause I was told I had to, is to keep the pipe from being damaged. Its refered to as a smoke tarp. Seems useless to me, but was told it prevented wind from getting in the pipe n ripping it off the trailer. Not sure if its true or not, but hey, I was told to tarp it so... It got tarped. Kind of hard to do when your tarp is frozen. That was a fun filled adventure in n of itself.

Wow... great job, ORD. I can't even get nice corners when gift wrapping a present.

Lol thanks! Those corners didn't last long lol. Well dropped my coils. Now waiting for a FM to tell me what to do next. Hope he comes up with a better plan than me bobtailing over 200 miles back to the yard. He's working with sales now to figure something out.
