Can anyone tell me how the Hot spot feature works for internet connection while otr. I know "how" i mean is it a reliable connection? does it have good coverage? Would i be better with a wireless card? Thanks for your input. Merry Christmas

The only down side is you cant make or receive call while hotspot is on well you can and will but it will block you hotspot internet service cant do both at the same time only AT&T IPhone will do that. But I have it on my galaxy S II and love it as soon as i turn my computer on its connected and I can go right to surfing the net. It seems faster that the 3g/4g device I had but my up side is I have 2 phone with me at all times 1 business 1 personal And I wouldnt think about switching back

I have the "hotspot" on mine and the coverage is as good as when I had the "card".

Not exactly...If you're in a 4g service area and have 4g activated you can use the phone while using the internet.
I have the phone he's talking about and have done it many times.

    Mr. PlumCrazy Thanks this.

    To the OP:
Typically ANY 4G phone can do voice/data at the same time...it's not limited to the carrier itself...

But w/o 4G, its either voice call -or- data use. Not both.

I have the Evo 3d (basicaly the same as the evo 4g). And I have the Overdrive 3g/4g data card. And interesting thing happens somtimes in a few places around the country. I will be recieving a 4g signal on my data card, but only a 3g signal on my phone. I asked sprint about this once and they said it was becouse they have just data contracts with other carriers in some regions.

So yes I believe the card performs better then a hotspot on the phone. But they are pretty close to each other and I believe the deciding factor should be how you plan to use data and voice. If your only looking at occasional data, go with the phone hotspot, If you plan on using data allot go with the card.
