Actually, you should look at the newbs NOT coming into bulk.
Those companies are asking for the help. They can't get enough driver/truck combos to fill the need in the oil patch.
You can always do like one of my neighbors did last month. Sold all 4 of his trucks, bought a Pick up/Lay down machine. Went back to the Oklahoma patch.
As long as the oil field continues to expand/boom. You're going to see a huge rush to fill ANY job that pays what the employees thinks is a decent wage.
It happened in the late 70's and early 80's. It's gonna happen again.
Oh, and those orange trucks are making some pretty #### good money. When you compare it to what the other orange trucks are making. Tank or not.
Demand in the oil field has exceeded supply. Should we lay some of the drilling companies off, until the local guys catch up? -
Outstanding information. Thanks to all for posting. So, I have spent a ton of time over the last two months researching company after company. As you all know, there good things and bad things. I have made the decision to attend Central Refrigeration's driver training program. I know money is not the important thing at this point, so I was trying to look at all the other tangibles. Thoughts?
As for pay, .28 per mile for the first 0-6 months then .29 per mile from 6-12 months. .30 per mile for year 1 and 2. Seems pretty standard. If the miles are good, I'm thinking it will be OK.
Thoughts?
Oh ... and what's the best way to kiss up to your DM and get good loads? -

Considering where you live I guess you don't have much of a choice... Central is just another "driver mill" turning out half trained rookies who work for cheap wages. Just my opinion....
-
When you start near the bottom,
things can only get better !!!!
-
That 28-29 cents per mile is really the bottom too! Yikes!
-
Krooser, I totally get where you are coming from. I'm interested in your input. Do you have any recommendations?
-
Good to know. I'm willing to start out at the bottom and work my way up.
Shall I honk, flash my markers, or say howdy on the CB as I pass you by in a year or two.
Just messin' with ya'll.
After losing my job a few months ago, I've pretty much become accustomed to having nothing. So, making .28 per mile sounds like a pile of gold to me right now. Perspective. I'm just thankful to have a job. I'm sure my perspective will change as the miles start to rack up.Stoney, 123456, jakebrake12 and 2 others Thank this.
