It just kills me when I read these kind of posts. Guys spend hundreds of $$$$ on a radio or radio and amp and then complain when it cost another $50-60 to get everything matched, or "peaked and tuned" as its called.
The tech that Mike5511 is referring to spent over an hour fixing what a "supposedly" great shop on I-40 in TN screwed up. He had removed the TB and got hot glue all over things that needed adjustment. It wasn't even on freq. Mike's tech not only fixed all the other guys mistakes, he took the time to explain what and why he was doing what he was doing. I admit, a lot of it was over my head, but from Mike5511's recommendation, I trusted his work. My bill: $40 (worth EVERY penny)
He has now worked on two radios for me and as long as I have radios and he is still kicking, he is the only one that will touch my equipment. Mike5511's tech is 3 hours from me and well worth every minute spent driving to him so it could be done RIGHT. I too will respect Mike5511's judgement on divulging the tech.
Complaining about another $50 is like squabbeling over an $$$ option when spending $30-$40 grand on a vehicle these days.mike5511 and rollingradios Thank this. -
