They do live demos. You just need to call corporate and speak to recruitment.

Landstar should be able to fax or email a snapshot of loads in a particular area. I know of others that they have done that for in the past.

    1958Pete and volvodriver01 Thank this.

That is my next question, how are the van rates running locally around Chicago?? I want to stay in about a 250 mile radius so I can get home everyday. If I can't gross $2,500 week doing that then I'll just keep with my current gig.

Also, I know it's obsolete but can you still find loads for a 48' van?? I got one that was given to me.

    volvodriver01 Thanks this.

You're looking at running minimum charge loads if that's your choice. We could probably get you home every other night, but that's not a guarantee. I make no promises, because I can't keep them.

As far as the 48' van, most likely not. Despite the fact that a lot of loads could go on a 48, you can't convince a shipper of that.

Check into the schneider agent in westmont.

You should be home just about every day, and make a good check.........

Finally spoke to the Canadian recruiter and have the app in my in box. Spoke to an agent first who referred me to the agent/recruiter in Hamilton, he was alittle more positive than the agent/ recruiter on how much freight comes and goes from the east coast, but, the first guy is going to get me in touch with an agent in New Brunswick for a chat, so, we will see what happens!!

Glad to hear it man. Not sure if it's possible, but if so, get your credentials to pick up and deliver in the US too.

I have a buddy who was running a SD and now runs a flat out of ON for LS. He is having a hard time getting good rates and making a decent gross. He usually has to run to Laredo or out west to make a good week. And he is nowhere near being in the boonies like you are.
