The OP posted her story and has been made fun of, her honesty and intelligence questioned, and basically ridiculed as being weak by many of you. No wonder she has'nt posted again with more information. Life on the road tends to make a person cynical about people and their motives. In a story like this I will always give someone the benefit of the doubt because too many times it is true and nothing is done about it. There have been good suggestions given about how she can get some justice (?) and to hopefully keep this from happening to another woman. I have a lot of respect for many of you on this forum. Some of the posts on here are just written versions of what is heard on the CB daily. Be safe. Be professional. Be cool. Bye.

You're right. Truckers do deal with cons more than the average bear. And they do have their guards up especially with a story that is way out of the normal.

The same goes in a forum, on the internet or even the CB. This isn't the first or the last post and run.

The more I think about it, the more I agree with others. This isn't just sexual harrassment. It's sexual assault, lewd and mischief conduct and probably other criminal charges. I don't know about you, but if I was a woman with a stranger like that, I would be calling the police. Not posting in a forum.

Plus no reaction to a bad DAC? If what she says is true, she would be disputing the DAC. Companies just don't receive sexual harrassment complaints and the end story is the employee is gone with a ruined record. There are laws against that.

Plus crying sexual harassment and uses a screen name babygirl?? There's some irony there.

Being terminated for doing something wrong and then running to a public forum with a flaming story happens every week here. It's not out of the question. Post and run is a good clue.

I guess we'll never know. She never stayed around long enough to discuss things or defend her integrity.

If she can't handle what little was said in the forum, she definately won't be able to handle being tore apart in a courtroom by a defense attorney.

  4. I know nothing of the OP other than what she wrote about in her post. Lets be real here, unless she went through every single bad post on Covenant and picked out the things that she could put together and weave a tale that would cause everyone here to give her some sympathy, then I have no reason not to believe her. What she has written is pretty much par for the course with Covenant. It's 6 of one and half dozen of the other.

I completely understand why everyone would read this story and have their guard up. I have read a lot of stories on here and do "feel sorry" for the OP in a lot of them, ...BUT....

This is a new age, and while you can't base you decision on who to drive for by reading these tales of woe here, if we did, there would be NO truckers on the road right now.

    What is the Truth?

I can agree with what Condo Cruiser wrote. Lets say she indeed is the real deal. Then My sympathy for the harassment against her would be justified. On the other hand, What if, Some burley 350 lb loser who washed out of the training offered by CTG got a wild hair to pose as a Baby-girl and anonymously post derogatory statements that do not have any validity other than it is his (or her) words. because there is only one version, it leaves the driver-trainer unable to defend himself here (if possible). Other comments about the Lies are based on CTG shorting the paycheck( that in itself is mis-information. All employees are responsible for items like DOT Physical, Hotel and Bus fare to orientation. They are deducted from payroll If a Driver fails to complete the first 90 days of probation. " Porn in a truck" That is likely to occur in some unknown percent, so wouldn't a Company as big a Covenant have Anti-Harassment Policies in place? the answer is yes. Can Covenant be held accountable for Harassment between drivers? Yes. They clearly let everyone know from day one Sexual harassment will not be tolerated at any level. They even have a 800 number for people to call if something need to be reported.

This forum is split 50/50 on the poll about the poster driving and walmart. That says a lot, 1/2 think walmart is a better occupation for this individual.

Lastly, If the post was an attempt to get a knee-jerk reaction from the rank and file of the forum community, then it has accomplished that very very well. :biggrin_25510:

Regarding the question about the O/P's user name. Why did you pick yours? I call my daughter Baby Girl. It would not surprise me if she put that down as a user name on a web forum. But just to be clear, this lady is not my daughter.

I voted she stay at WalMart because I figured she was talking about returning to Covenant.

That is SO NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!! I would be pressing charges against that driver, and file a suit against Covenant for sure. Just the claim you made alone is reason enough for any reputable company to stand up and take notice. I know you may be new, but sexual harassment is a HUGE NO NO in any job. If you had has a cell phone with a camera, I would have suggested taking pics, that would have provided you an open and shut case. I can't tell you what to do, but hope you follow through with your claims and don't let some peckerwood keep you from a job you want to do.

    Hello "BabyGirl27"

It is common for both male & female students in trucking to have their DAC ruined from their training carrier, it is particularly so for Women who are meant to be eliminated after reporting any sort of sexual misconduct.

I worked for Covenant Transport , I wrote about my experiences using a cell phone most of the time. I also have a you tube channel where I am re-telling the written story in videos.

There is a lawyer by the name of Paul Taylor who has gone after carriers who have committed DAC abuse. He has some rather significant cases listed on his website.

Google "Truckers Justice Center" to read more about these significant cases. I do not know the rules here for including links here but part of surviving in trucking is knowing which move to make next and no one can take those steps to move forward except for you.

I recently videotaped this lawyer I am speaking about for a different you tube channel called 'trucking social media".

There are 2 videos called "What Every Truck Driver Should Know...." Part One & Part Two , in these videos , Paul Taylor talks about how drivers can protect themselves using the "Surface Transportation Assisitance Act", he also talks about DAC abuse by carriers.

I also have the name of a good employment lawyer in Chattanooga Tennessee who is familiar with Covenant Tranport "tactics" if you would like his information you can contact me.

    I wish you luck.

    Desiree
