Anyone know anything about these guys?

I used to see their trucks around STL & definitely coming out of south TX. Was always curious to see if they were a decent company to work with or something just to avoid.

I was thinking about going this route (of transporting cars) but have you called them to see if they even hire with no experience? From what I have heard from the truckers I talk to who transport cars for a living is its difficult to get into. Find a company that will hire and train you, but its going to be few and far between.

Any updated info

Any updated info on Fleet Car. Car sales are going through the roof. They must be looking for good drivers.

They are always looking for drivers BUT you have to own a car carrier. It is a O/O company. There is some that own and lease on more than 1 truck and you can drive for them if you can find someone that has a truck leased to them and needs a driver. I was leased to them way back in 02 and I wouldn't work for them again but that's just me. The problem I had with them is that they thought since their name was on my door that they would tell me what loads I was going to run. If they had garbage loads on the board you had to take one of them or they wouldn't dispatch you for 24 hours. Maybe things are different there now but I doubt it.

Yea, I here ya SX. I think there is some of that type dispatching at any company, no matter what type of freight. New guys probably even see more of the garbage loads, til you pay your dues, so to speak. I guess the move would be, drive for an O/O to see how it works out, before making the investment in equipment.

I was leased on to them from 05-07 and loved it. Made a mistake and went to UNited Road thinking the grass was greenier on the other side. It is true they are all owner/ops. Most of the guys there realize all loads arent gonna be great and take the good with the bad. The ones that dont dont last long. Rates are usually higher than normal because they do a lot of spot buy moves. I mostly ran out of Port Hueneme,CA so I was home a lot. I do know they try to bounce the other guys around the 48 though

I was just passing on my experience with FC since it was asked. Yes as most know or have figured out I am leased to URS. Are they the best company? No but it works for me and don't force me to do a load that I choose not to. Everyone has different opinions on companies etc and do things differently. If I choose to pass on a load here they don't say,,,,well we can't dispatch you because you refused that load. 10 years with them,,truck n trailer paid off working for them. Another new trailer that I had for over 5 years paid off working for them and now a newer truck n trailer that is being paid for working for them. Guess I have found a niche that works for me.Viceroy1 Thanks this.
