I finally got hold of roni in recruiting but age told me they were not currently hiring in north Carolina. I will check back later before its time. Maybe they will start back hiring. Thanks.
My plan is try to drill out so I have 4-5 months without drill.

Company trucks are governed at 62mph because of fuel consumption not necessarily safety. There's no difference in crashing a big rig at 62 then there is at 65! However there is huge difference in the fuel you save! If you ever decide to buy a truck you will want to run at 60 or less most of the time. The difference in pay is huge! You aren't going to get there any faster running 65 instead of 60 but you will make a lot more money!

Is it possible for you to go IMA (Individual Mobilization Augmentee)? I did that and it's sweet duty. You can go on ADSW whenever a slot comes available and knock out your drill time. I did all my drill time with III MEF in Oki, then stayed another 7 months on ADSW.

Central was Ok for me but they push you to drive into the early morning hours so if you arent used to that it makes it extremely hard as your sleep cycle is messed up. and I couldnt get enough sleep with the truck bouncing nor adjusted to staying up till 3 am

BooBoo I hate to put it out there but that's truck driving! Unless you are running local or are on a dedicated type gig then your driving/sleeping hours are going to be different from day to day. This is just all part of the job.

    Injun and PSUMoose Thank this.

Hi, i got used too this running what i called the reefer cycle, upp all day loading, take 10 , go like heck till you got there, i mostly ran at night, much cooler for trl and most my times were early morning hours anyway for warehouse grocery loads, then sit in there parking lot for a couple hours waiting too unload , cacth more sleep while waiting, the big guy will bang on your door , waking you up, most times i just sit in driver seat and sleep :biggrin_25518:

You also need to tell them specifically what you are doing, like you do make up drill or early drill in lieu of what ever time period is. If not you may not get credit for it.

you got 24 hrs a day, max on duty driving time is 11 hrs, you have to take a 10 hrs break after that, total 70 hrs on duty a week, so do your math. Drive early morning or not is up to you. Trip planing is the key, need I say more?

It's been said before on this thread, but gotta repeat. What a GREAT running commentary on training at CRS. You guys have helped me make up my mind that CRS is the company I will go with for training. Thanks for all the info. Hope to be starting in Conley, Ga on Jan 9
