What about mileage I know that boyd does mileage pay not percentage so how many miles does a rookie driver average per week? Why don't they do percentage?

They were offering percentage pay at one time...they must have stopped..27 percent for new drivers and 28 or 29 percent for exp. drivers. They will offer you more per mile if you volunteer for electronic logs. i believe its 1 or 2 cent more a mile..my personal opinion, the electronic log nor their percentage pay is worth it.Winter is the slow season for flatbedding..miles will vary...but you shouldn't have a problem running 2,000 miles a week..as long as you make nice with dispatch :)

I'm sure some will disagree...but I have done both logs, and I have run less miles with the elog than paper logs. With elogs, once the time starts, thats it..14 hours later you have to stop...you cant skimp even 15 minutes..and sometimes that 15 minutes is all you need to get to a truck stop, or a delivery on time. Elogs would work great if you could always keep moving. Preplanned all the time. When you have to sit 3 hours to be unloaded, 2 hours waiting for a load, then when you get to your next pick up, you have to wait 5 hours to be loaded. 10 hours there...yea, not every day is like that...but when it happens, and especially on a Friday..well, you get the picture.
