i may have been a little quick in bobtailing out of there the other day, but there are few places in this country i don't want to be and they are all in texas. laredo is the worst, followed by el paso then dallas and finally laredo again for good measure. good luck getting out of there.

 

Las Cruces, NM. Finally escaped Phoenix to Nogales, drop and hook, and on the way to Ohio. Had fun driving today after only 7.5 hours total the first week. Someone called my mentor a dork; still not sure if that was a compliment...

Well, I'm in Fort Smith AR.
Just picked up a load going to Denver, for some home time with my kids.
I even have some cash to buy them some Christmas presents.

This, after a very long day.
My live unload was a forever unload, it seemed.
And before that I almost smashed into a car when the truck in front of me decided to change lanes without looking and almost creamed said car.
The driver of the car locked up the brakes, started to skid into my lane, then turned the other way and spun out in the center median.
Could have been really, really bad.

I'm at the yard. We have a new planner who isn't new to Swift as an office person. Just new to the planning job.


Jury's still out on this one, but it ain't lookin good.

 

3 more hrs to complete 34 reset, still no load available (been sending mac30 on and off for 15 hrs) now 7 more swift trucks here and I hope they are loaded.

 

Made it out of Laredo after getting a restart, took a load of tires to Lancaster that delivers Monday A.M. Talked the planner into letting me T-call and head to house with a load picking up Monday from Corsicana to Lubbock. Even talked him into giving up an empty for the weekend! Oh, at home until Monday morning!
