Oregon, that is the communist hole i crawled out of. Maybe growing up in sawmills and working in the woods since I was a teenager gives me a differant perspective. We just learned to mend our selves for minor injuries.

    Two words.... LOAD LOCKS.

You never said if it was preloaded or not. But looking at the picture, it wouldn't have mattered. It looks as if it w as off-balance when it was loaded. But you cannot be 100% sure.
If you aren't sure, put up load locks. They will lessen the risk. If its preloaded, ask the shipper if he put a set on there. If not, you CAN ask them to open the trailer so you can put load locks on for SAFETY reasons. Its only 5 minutes and one seal.
    Good luck, be safe!

    Glad you are ok....

ALWAYS open the door as you are walking away with it. Use it as a shiled/guard between you and the product. If you had done that, only thing that would have happened is the load would have fallen onto the ground. But i too learned this the hard-way.

I was hauling a load form a rail yard to the Sears DC here in Chicago and i opened the door on the contianer at the in-gate and a 3-ton floor jack (craftsman of course) came off the top and hit me square on the top of my head. I woke up in the back of an ambulance on my way to the ER. I required 18 stitches and was off work for a month with a concussion....thank god of Occ/Acc :)
