    2012 pete 389
    2012 kw t660
    2012 freightshaker

im leaning towards the pete ,
still have to rig it out the way i need it for my situtation.
i can pay for 3/4 of the price with cash .have to finance the other 1/4.
figure i have some rm for a bargain with good down deposit.

    SHC Thanks this.

Well I would go with a pete just because thats my preferance. But i supose it would depend on what you wanna do with it and what models your looking at....

Sounds like you've got money for a nice toy. I would not buy a brand new truck with all the emissions garbage that comes on them any more. If I were in your shoes I would get in touch with Fitzgerald out of Crossville, TN (google them) and purchase a brand new 2012 glider kit truck. It will be a brand new truck with remanufactured rear ends, transmission, and motor built to your specs. The motor trans and rears will come with good warranties and will be better than new. Freightliner Columbia, Coronado, or Peterbilt model 386, or 389 are your only choices for glider kits. I think you used to could get Western Star's up until a year or two ago but heard they don't offer them anymore. Kenworth quit the glider market many years ago. Fitzgerald builds a quality truck. The motors are paint matched to the color of the truck's body.

It does not look like some shade tree mechanic slapped together a bunch of used junk on a new truck chasis. I've seen a Fitgerald Coronado up close before they are very nicely done, the wire harnesses in the engine compartment and everything look like a factory job. Wish i could have one of these myself. This way you can spec any motor you want. I would choose a pre-emissions single turbo CAT 2000-2002, engine serial # prefix beginning with 6NZ if you want something with great power and reliability or a 2002 or older 12.7 Liter pre emission Detroit if you want something that gets excellent fuel economy, is reliable, and parts are plentiful/cheap. A glider built to your specs like this will save you about $25,000 or $30,000 below the price of a brand new truck with 2012 emissions engines, will have all the new smell, be reliable and give you years of good service without spending too much time in a shop.

Note, they can't build these gliders fast enough and there is a long wait to get one, 6 months or longer.
