Hear me out for a sec. I always hear or see people bashing swift and saying how their turnover is so high. I bought to another truckers attention that I seen a list of the top 50 companies and guess who was right at the top. Granted the list was based on revenue.
Now is Swift a great company or is the fact they probably have the largest trucking fleet make them rich.
SO is it safe to say that the company with the most employees would have the highest turnover.

..it's not a matter of whose right or wrong, (I worked 4 yrs for a Swift O/O), but what this site does is to try and save ppl from getting discouraged after spending $$$ for CDL's and waste a portion of their life! I look at life in general as "all life experiences are valuable!' But one would hate to see someone with false expectations, esp those who shouldnt be in this OTR industry to begin with, make a bad decision---often getting training with the 'right' co. can change all that---I bailed on my 1st trainer after the 1st week!! It's just trying to inform and help newbies, etc.!! Sorry if that offends you..:biggrin_25519:

Turnover percentage is what you want to look at to see who is losing drivers and who is not.
Say Swift has 20000 but loses/drops 4000 per year, thats 20%
Joe Blow Trucking Company has 5000 drivers but only drops or loses 500, that's 10%

4000? or 500? who is better?

It was just a question.I am in no way shape or form assoc. with swift. But also I think some people on this site give false information.
What I would say to a newbie is dont take what somebody else says as the bible. They can tell you how screwed up a comp. is but you dont know how good of an employee they were, or if they ran hard or just **** ****** around. The proper thing to say IMO is these companies stay in buisness so somebody has to be happy working for them. Do your research and understand that ANY trucking company is a roll of the dice, there is no company that has never had anybody hate them as an employer.

I think the perception of the Swift's is they don't have to treat you right. There will be another sucker coming through the door to take your place.

Doesn't mean they happy drivers and some bad eggs. It means they have tons of people in and out the door.

So they could give a rats +++ if you are happy.

The problem with Swift is they just don't care, they've got 16,000 trucks to keep moving and they don't care what it takes to do it. Drivers are merely tiny gears in a giant machine, easy to replace and not worth the effort to maintain. There are some companies that treat there drivers much worse than Swift. Swift doesn't care but these other companies screw their drivers over with malice aforethought and for some strange reason a lot of them are based in SLC, go figure.

The state of Utah is a right to work state.
If the company is based there they will follow the laws of the state.
In Utah a company can fire you without any cause, or for any reason, and you cannot do anything about it.

Since you aren't privy to other people's experience, except to the extent that they communicate them here, do you think that it is somewhat disingenuous to say they are giving "false information"?
Additionally: OPINION can be neither right or wrong, it is simply OPINION.
