Does anyone know if Maverick's specialized glass division has Freight going thru the NJ Area.
Also does the company discreminate against overweight people.
TMC advised because I weight 329 LBS and take Blood pressure meds I was disqualified. My recruiter from Maverick told me that I'm qualifed and should not have any issues as long as I PASS their AGILITY and DOT Test. I'm kind of woried.
Also in a different note. I was suppose to go out with Prime, but a school buddy of mine advised that he has to do 40,000.00 miles in the Truck with his Trainer, and his Trainer is not teaching him anything. He belives that he is being used as a TEAM driver to increase revenue to the O/O Truck.
He complained to his Fleet Manager, and as told to work it out with his trainer. It does not seem like a place I want to be.

Climbing on top of the A frame to tarp could be a challenge for you.
Big City Brooklyn Thanks this. -
I am not in the glass division, but I have watched the training of those doing it. I also have a very good friend that is in the glass division.
It is very labor intensive and can take as long as three hours to complete securement and tarping. In that time you are moving up and down a ladder.
Unless you are a very fit person, ie...a football player.....I believe you will have a very difficult time.
Just my opinion. Best of luck to you!Big City Brooklyn Thanks this. -
I used to haul glass. It stinks, don't do it. Find something different.

Thanks for the advice. Did you haul glass for Maverick?

No one replied to my Maverick topic, so may I ask how hard the classes are? Do they ask you all of the things we have studied for from the CDL and school? Or is it fairly simple to a point where if you paid attention you will do well?

With all the sleep apnia crap going on anyone who is a little 'tubby' has become a target. Most insurance companies are requiring the agility tests these days even for van and refer operations.
