When I worked out in the snow in CO I liked gore-tex bibs and jackets. The un-insulated bibs were good to about 0 degrees and the insulated ones will go down to about -50. Layers too, good thin long johns and turtleneck. And a pair of gaiters to keep the snow out of the tops of my boots and pant legs dry... socks, never cotton, always a thin pair of nylon ones under outer pair of wool, and a pair of wool gloves with short fingers and a mitten flap are good when you need to be able to use your fingers then cover them up for warmth. And everyone is right, a hat can save your life...

Meh, I'm a Carhartt fan. Everything I've ever owned with a Carhartt label on it has been stood up to years of use and abuse without falling apart. When I've bought cheaper off brand stuff, its never held up nearly as well. As for the warmth, I live in Michigan and I stay plenty warm. But then again I dress in layers as most do in these parts.

For those wanting really good cold weather gear,
pricey yes but well worth every penny spent once you are in the sht.
Carhart C55 ExtremeWeather is far from second to anything "trendy on the slopes"
About $140'ish for the best coat you will never wear out and good to Arctic
burrr with minimal under layers.
I ride my bike with this coat and a simple T-shirt in sub 32*F weather
is plenty.
You will likely need to order this "specific" C55 ExtremeGiggles the Original Thanks this. -

I believe in working smarter not harder. So this time of the year is when I normally hire a rookie needing experience. I let him get out and freeze his ### of while I stay in the truck keeping warm.

I wear, Under Armor Thermals. Put them on, a pair of jeans, Flannel LS Shirt, Walls Blizzard Proof Bibs, Coat, and an Under Armor Cold Gear Hood, Gloves. I carry a pair of gloves/gauntlet style, I picked up way back when I had my Harley. They were a little pricey at $95, but they keep my hands dry and warm, but can't do much with them on. Most of the time I use the $2 pr of gloves that has the red lining. They seem to do the best job of keeping my hands warm when I need to be able to move my fingers.
