Dropped in avenel hi this morning. What a cluster!!!
Guy gave me wrong directions. Fun trying to turn around. Then went in wrong gate. Even more fun having to back out of it. Then I had to back into the place while listening to beeping traffic the whole time. Now sitting waiting to pick up in wallingford, CT. So far this has been a day from hell!!! -
I had a long talk with my Operations Manager today to discuss my laundry list of issues from the last five days;
1) Meeting relay driver Friday morning at Sharonville yard. He was 4.5 hours late which meant that the delivery couldn't be made on time in Maine. Weekend dispatch tells me the appointment time can't be changed, so they relay it to another driver in PA. My appoint was for 1115 on Saturday. The other driver delivered at 2215 which means he took a 10 hour break. If they could change the appointment for him, why not for me?
2) Since I lost the Maine deliver, I lost the Maine pick up which was 1,100 mile load to Indy. Total miles lost due to late relay driver equaled 1,800. Weekend Dispatches solution was to give me 700 mile load to Wisconsin.
3) Load from Tomah, WI to Cudahy, WI. 170 miles, told no appt, early okay. Arrive 2.5 hours early to be told I have a 1500 appt time. Come back at 1400 and they finally unload me at 1600. My 14 ended at 1621. Guess who drove over his hours today?
4) Preplan for tomorrow is a pick up 38 miles away at 0600 to deliver 18 miles away at 1000. Live appt time. So wasting half my day!
Operations Manager calls me to discuss these issues and a couple others. Has promised me that this will be rectified and tells me I'm not the only driver with these complaints lately and they are taking them seriously. I guess we'll all see what happens. -
Oh, I'm at the Love's in Oak Creek, WI.

I'm in Hannibal, MO at a little truckstop off US 36 and US 24. Heading to Hesston, KS in the morning. I've got a stepdeck. I like pulling these.
