We all have issues with these type of companies New drivers are that new drivers they usually have no more infoThan What The Company Wants Them To See When a trainee comes into the industry it is usually like going off Too a foreign land they know next to nothing they have
nobodyGiving them firsthand knowledge the tried an true experience
From somebody who's been their an has been thru itThe don't really know what's around the next curve or turnOr that next corner that only comes with time so think
Your in their shoes you know nobody you have no gotoPlace of security everything is mixed up an down is upUp is down what wood you really do
All you experts say yeah I wood do this I duh do this Horsepoop you'd crap yourself an you know It I like hearn this stuff herd b 4 will hear it againWhen bombs are droppn on your head you know whatI'am talkin bout you can't really tell those who haven'tBeen in the fire once burned tho its a whole different story.
You ever shoot I have it ain't like what you see on tvRunnin around kick everybody f ing ###
Just think next time when someone is makes vast claims The ones that start with cussing an slander or goto it real quik Are usually the suspects so take a step back breath an take in
Your surrounding your blind in enemy territory with no one who well help its like mexicali,ca every been yeah. I have been Looks like a waste land like something outta of flippin movie but worse its real.
Image that with people guns are chasing you firing guns @ ya in the dark That is similar too what people feel when their in SHOCK......!!!
They don't function properly your here read an type in your safe zone ,If your in the red zone its not earth no more its hell an people wanna Kill you or hurt period.
Their is no fun their is nobody too trust people wanna kill period
That's what it feels like 2 bee in SHOCK
So unless you've been there you really wont can't understand what its like too go thru such fires.
Bee alittle more quizy with your. Questions an look very closely @ there answer you can usually cutt thru the crap when you quiz rather than argue or tit for tat talk also this is a very clear indicators here
People who are telling of such matters usually type it like it is
So people will grill them as soon as they post some will say the norm ohh that's horrible butt then theirs the ones who are suspect.
This is easy too detect tho we can second guess all we want an say what we wood have done well when its real time the talkn is eazy.
People are human we are faulible by nature you can look back now at everything you've done or I've done its easy 2 see clearly well the same can bee said with others telling the truth
specially like the OP
It was very easy 2 detect what she did wrong this is how cops solve crimes amongest a hole lotta of other thing butt they find the details/facts the flaws the mistake and the follow it too its logical end
It very easy 2 do when your in the comfort zone your secured setting without all the millions of other factors happening in realtime that thru real people for real loops
Another example the military weeds out the weak with this process survival by fire an trial its the only way too prevent a deadly mistake later.
You can say all you want doing is only proven not spoken
very upset

To Truckerdesiree,
You are to be commended by taking the time to record your personal experience. By including a witness who can attest to the "real life experience" your story is based on the truth and validates your claim. I have reservations when people come on the Trucker report and can't back up the story with dates, times, names and or other means other than illegible half-truths. As to Covenant Transport mistreatment of Drivers, I agree they promise one thing and deliver another. The fact is I work for the subsidiary Southern Refrigerated Transport and also have seen first hand the many drivers who have become victim to the abuse at the hands of Fm's who are glorified task managers who have one purpose, deliver on schedule. This problem is not unique to CTG. The problem I have with this Corporate System is that the ones doing the most work(aka Drivers) are considered expendable. There will always be the next rookie standing in line to take your job when your ready to Jump off the Truck. What is sad is its true, but Dedicated, Professional and Conscientious Drivers are what keep the Industry Moving. Remember this, the "wannabe complainer" who cracks under pressure usually washes out in the first year. It really is good to see someone willing to take a stand against the machine. But as you have probably figured out, the likeliness of changing these Corporate Practices will come at the expense of a few good women and men.Last edited: Dec 16, 2011

There probably is no 'babygirl'.

Thanks, I just became so angry at the volume of people who were harmed that I met in training that I knew I needed to do something.
I am actually trying to finish my marketing final & split time to visit with my Father who is in his last days dying of Cancer but I wanted to post quickly and make a few comments to all on this thread and those reading it.
Since I began doing this project I have spoken to numerous women and many appear and dissappear like this poster "babyGirl27" , it is not uncommon for them to be attacked into submission by having a barrage of monday morning quarterbacks emerge to nit pick why they didn't do this or that ... after the fact.
This is one reason why this continues to be a pervasive problem because hind sight is 20/20 so when you start beating yourself up about stupid missteps you made that you should have handled differently and then confide in others who begin reinforcing that idea it makes many woman retreat.
I am not saying that I have not talked to some women whose stories began to change though upon talking to me. Two I can think of offhand were at Convenant, one came to my room while I was recovering from a serious fall.
One told me quite a story that included rape. I let her tell me everything and I always take notes. This seemed to make her nervous so I looked her straight in the eyes and told her if she understood what a serious allegation she was making and advised her I had been raped myself in the past. This was a girl who was formerly a diesel mechanic & felt she knew the climate working around men. At the end of our conversation, she cried and apologized and said I should be a lawyer. She confessed she was in over her head being out on the road and unable to get home after an intensely bad day. She was not prepared for the days with no shower and the tight schedules. There was no outlet for her to get away and she got fired because she failed to deliver a load on time. She was not taught that "it's all about the load" not about you. She screwed up and she had some "issues" that made her perception of reality askew if you know what I mean.
Another girl I was called about was in another drivers room and he called me to help him out. When I got there and heard her story I was worried for him and told him later "you should have not let her in your room" he said he knew but he didnt know what to do with her.
This girl obviously had mental health issues and suffered from paranoia and was highly co-dependant. He was trying to be a nice guy to hear her out but the more compassion he showed her the more she began to "think" he cared about her. This was apparently going on with her trainer as well and once I took over she began doing it with me also.
Now we can sit and call names or begin seeing something that is another problem with the trianing carriers. This is not a Covenant Transport specific but I saw it there frequently.... Recuiters who are bringing people in who have known mental health issues, some who are going off their meds to get thru orientation and freak out once on the road.
There was an issue last year at swift where a trainee took off with truck & left trainer. Cops had to throw spike strips to stop him. They guy we talk of in the video, he was on meds. In the case I mention in the video with CR England , I have PDF of the filed complaint and in it says that recruiters go to homeless shelters to find people to recruit. This occurs because of the commission structures are out of control so recruiting people who may be just out of rehab or just looking for a roof over there head and a vacation across america on the taxpayers dime are placed into a truck to train. I am not saying that everyone who comes out of a homeless shelter or rehab will end up like this either but because of the circus like atmosphere at truck driver training that basically takes a person with just a few weeks of basic skills and has them out running team freight on the open road this kind of stuff is going on frequently.
This is why good trainiers quit or are lost. Sometimes good trainers are told to babysit these bad students. They cannot be fired. Why? Is it because the commission is not paid until the head is in the seat for a period of time? Is it because the commision cannot be paid until the government subsidy to train students is collected? These things are connected.
I have more to add but must get back to my studies with reagrds to the OOIDA topic someone asked earlier up the thread. Short Answer "Hope Rivenburg (widow of Jason Rivenburg is one and Jami Jones, Norita Taylor and Todd Spencer himself personally called her to tell her to stay home from GATS and they would "handle it") this after they told her the famous "good luck with that" and thankfully she did not listen to them and SHE is the reason "Jason's Law" is still on the menu and SHE has persistently had to publically push the ATA OOIDA and NATSO to get onboard or look like jerks. They could do much more but they historically do not. Raed up on Virginia rest area topic to learn about OOIDA taking credit for Fred Schaffner diligent work.
All of the above topics can be googled to find the history. I have posted about them on my personal blog also over the years.
This thread is useful because it is hopefully educating some who are not aware of what is going on at the training carriers , there are few who can simply deliver truck driver training as promised.
If you are an older driver who is a O/O you should realize that this is why the industry is deteriorating and I would ask you to become more aware.
When I was contacted about an abandoned CR England student last year which I posted about in the "Real Women Truckers" fan page on Facebook, it was an older male veteran driver who witnessed her being thrown off and abandoned. It was because he posted it on Facebook and it spread like wildfire and then he took initiative to write CR England a terse email along with the group of concerned drivers who keep the thread alive that publically embarssed the carrier to get her a ticket. Of course they did ambush her later and fired her but her story is an example that these carrier are feeling the heat if we keep it on them. They do not like the spotlight unless they are getting to tell their lies to Transport Topics or one of the other "bought off" industry ATA rags which now includes "The Trucker" who recently blocked a female driver who wanted to know if WIT was aware of the Prime case before it became public. The answer is YES they did and it is documented because Paul Taylor the lawyer called her personally.
These executives are permitted to live in la la land because the publications they read and the publications drivers read are tooled to create an image that wages are competitive and it's one big happy family.popmartian, Lonesome, Higgy and 1 other person Thank this. -
So Herman Cain is driving for Covenant now?

We are sorry to hear about a negative interaction at our company. Our company certainly does not approve of, and will not stand behind, such behavior. Since our safety department has no record of this case, we ask that you please call our Human Resources department (800.721.5202) and explain the situation to them for further investigation. Again, we apologize and wish you the best of luck with your truck driving career.
Sincerely,
