Glad to see these new specific sub forums. Was wondering how many Cryo haulers we have in here? I start my new job hauling cryo in a week after 16 years in the foodservice/grocery industry. I am excited to get into this field of work and would love to hear any tips or info from you experienced guys.
Any Cryogenic Haulers?

Former: worked for 2 of the big 3. Ask away..... and
Q: whom are you going to work for?? -
I don't have any specific questions per say. Just looking for any info in this field that would be helpful to a newbie in the industry.
BTW who are the Big 3 today? -
Air Gas, Air Products and Air Liquide, Praxair..... Linde / BOC a distant second except in CO2.
Anhydrous= no water. Bad stuff young man, pay attention to your lessons. If it gets loose it's looking for water meaning your ears, nose, mouth and eyes. It will put you on the ground, burn your lungs and suffocate you without mercy. Use a new gasket everytime when you transfer. ( they will tell you that ) It's a small molecule so you'll smell it anyway......
I'm not trying to scare you at all, just the opposite, knowlege is you friend. Know what you're pulling and respect it. If you don't know, stop and ask.
Get in and get settled, see if they have a cryogenic operation in the area and transfer to Argon if you can get it....that's the sweet spot. You'll probably have to do a year in each division ( I did ) b4 you can. ( ASP is diff than ARG etc. )steerinwheelholder Thanks this. -

One thing I remember from my training at the old Liquid Carbonic was the fit of the gloves.
They will supply cloth [canvas] gloves and you want them to be a loose fit so you can shake them off should you have a cyrogenic spill.
Cold burns and you don't feel it right away. To avoid burns you want to get the gloves off quickly if they become soaked with product.
Never handled ammonia, but it is the easiest vapor to detect, that is why they say you will always smell it.
Always wear your PPE and replace anything that wears out. Your gear is there to get you out of a jam. It will not do that if it is folded up in the side box.steerinwheelholder, chalupa, homeskillet and 1 other person Thank this. -
We haul Argon in to the DRC from South Africa.
A 2 week trip.
Got to really cool the tank and load real slow to keep stable over long periods. -
How about some pics of your tankers at work or on the highway?
