On the seventh day of Christmas, my DM said to me,
Seven pickups waiting,
Six drops a plenty,
five hours to wait.
Four roads closed,
Three days to go
Two hours on the phone
And a Repower in Tucumcari!

A true poet! See what drivers can do when they have to sit around too long.

Got a load out of Grand Island , NE to the yard that picks up tomorrow, so Steven's is keeping their word. Unfortunately, my streak of bad luck continues. Some low life scum siphoned almost 130 gal of fuel while I was sleeping last night. I went from 7/8's of a tank to 1/8. So now, I am sitting here waiting for the Sheriff to show up so I can file a police report.

Same reason I purchased locking fuel caps for my truck.
Fortunately, I only lost about 30 gallons in Ripon.
I rarely fill up when I arrive at a truck stop for the night. Thieves tend to watch for a fleet truck that fills up, then parks.
Sure sucker. -
I have anti-siphon devices on my truck, but this loaner doesn't have anything. I didn't fuel at that truck stop either. I'm surprised I didn't hear them or feel them messing round back there. I'm also pissed that they stole all of my fuel, but didn't touch the reefer...which was completely full. I also don't understand why Steven's is always harping about saving fuel, yet they don't put anti siphon devices in the tanks, Oh well...I guess they needed that fuel worse than I did. All I can say is that Karma's a #####.
Unfortunately, this whole loaner truck endeavor has put me into the red big time. In the past 4 days, I have purchased over $1500.00 in fuel. Merry Christmas to me!! -
Hey Flight sorry to hear about all the issues as of late. I would CRST the cost of using the loaner while your truck is being fixed. Let their insurance cover those costs since their driver caused all these issues in the first place. Just a thought good to hear tht you are going to make it home for the Christmas trip enjoy and be safe.

Picked up those pesky gremlins from mann packing. If it is not one little thing not working, it is watching 1 gallon of coolant come spraying out the overflow tube!!!!
Then refill, and everything is fine for a while. Then today pulling parley, check engine light comes on, oil pressure drops to nothing a the engine shuts off... make it to the shoulder costing, pull the breaks, and shut it down. Get out open the hood, coolant is full, check the oil, it is at the add line,
get back in the truck, turn the key, and everything starts back up, no codes, no faults, no lights....
Okay finish the climb and stop at the sinclair stop at the junction of US 40... get me some blimpies, and have lunch. Check the coolant, still full, but now the oil is not showing on the dip stick, so I add a gallon.
Pull into the loves at wamsutter for fuel, and blow about 2 gallons of coolant out the overflow....
fill up, and treat the fuel, headed home and it is gonna be cold, well if the gremlins let me. Pull around park, top the coolant off, road rescue is no help, says until the engine derates and throws codes there is nothing they can do.

Pull into cheyenne, fully expecting to throw coolant everywhere again, but nope, not a drop. and the oil is full.... dang pesky gremlins....
and last night, my apu kept kicking the thermo breaker, which on the t660 is only accessible from the outside door... this morning in the daylight I could see why it was tripping, the clamp that holds the heating duct for the bunk heater had come loose, and was blowing very hot air right on the breaker...
dang gremlin.
So tuesday brings a delivery to walmart... sure hope it goes smoothly... then a trip home, before the snow flys on Wed and Thursday for WY. It will be a white christmas.
Sure am glad I have been up here on I80 the past month.. cold and dry every trip... okay except for that freezing fog, and foggy drizzle I keep driving in.
Be safe out there. This current blizzard is nasty, and the one coming from the north is a snow maker.
I was siphoned once, even with the anti siphon tubes in place... they got about 60 gallons. Did not hear a thing. Happened at Lawton OK. Locking caps were well worth the price. -
Do you Steven drivers have to pay for you own gasoline or does the company?
-
EGR cooler problem, get it fixed asap!! It is costly if you let it go. Take it to a dealer, do not let the clowns at the yard work on it. Good luck this will put a damper on your holiday
Hopefully there is a dealer near the house so you don't have to sit in a hotel waiting for it to be fixed.
