Do Company Lease to Own Deals Always Fail?

I've been looking at some of the lease to own programs certain companies offer. Companies like CR England, US Xpress, et, et, seem to really push their lease to own programs. They make it all sound so good. However, I've yet to hear or read about a success story. On the other hand, stories of financial disaster are posted all over the internet.

Do these programs always fail, or does some of the fault lie with the operator? Do these companies push people who aren't qualified into these deals?

And, on another level, is a given company's standard lease a "take it or leave it" program, or can one negotiate a better deal?

They are scam artists, plain and simple. They make it so you can never get out from in under it. Buy a tractor and lease a trailer from a company and stay O/O.

There are very few and i mean very few that are set up to where you can make any money.. Schneider has one of the few programs that will work and can make a good living. But i will say that if you can't afford to go by a truck then save until you can . All these good O/O out here didn't start with a nice 379, Most worked there way up .. Don't lease a truck from a company that want let you run it else where.

I have heard many nightmares about lease purchasing trucks. I would like to own my own truck so I can work where and when I want to. I've been a company driver for 24 years with a perfect safety record. Does anyone know of any low interest loans from the government to start up a small company?

I agree with Buck, to say 100% are scams and rip offs is incorrect. BUT, most mega carriers will screw you on a lease. Get a copy of the lease agreement, study it, study it, study it, to make sure you know what you are signing. This is YOUR money and future, this is your decision so don't trust what anyone else says.

A good rule is "Never lease a truck from the same company that controls you loads"

Join OOIDA http://www.ooida.com/ and see what they say about the lease programs and which companies are the worst offenders. OOIDA does their own research and will look over contracts for you before you sign them, They arent in anyone's pocket and will give you the real deal in plain terms.

Lease Purchases don’t always fail. But it doesn’t take much of a breeze to knock the house of cards down on top of you.

i've completed 2 of them.i didn't complete 2 of them.if you have a mortgage and alot of bills,i would say its more risky figuring they would take truck expenses off of you first, before mortgage etc..just my opinion.
