Just keep on with your making $70,000 but tell us what your taxable income is at the end of the year .
6k loaded miles a month is 12,000 total miles with no return loads . That's 144,000 miles a year . Roadmedic is very experienced and knowledgeable at RV transport . He quotes $.44 a mile for expenses .
That would be $63,360 . Care to recalculate ?
BTW , the Woodhouse sleeper isn't legal . There is no legal sleeper possible for a pickup backseat . -
I assure you i understand how accounting works.
I trust roadmedics numbers, Im quoting you my numbers.
Im not getting into the legality of the woodhouse.
I searched your post, I dont see anything relating to your trucking income, as I posted im intersting in a better way to make money with my truck if you care to explain. -
do you realize that as a owner op you would be making 1.25 minimum ALL miles driven, the only extra expenses you would have is like 10k per year on insurance and 3k on trailer...
if I drove 144k miles in a year I would gross 180k at minimum, probably be well over 200k though. and at the very most I would spend 20k per year more then you. -
1 thing ive heard from guys who hotshot with like a 40' trailer is that they are on the road as much as 20 days in a row, doing resets out of town in hotels. I enjoy being home every few days.
Also ive heard some having problems getting paid, bad brokers or whatever, Either way trucking in general seems to suck imho. Anyone doing OTR of any type does not get paid anywhere near enough as far as im concerned.
As always if anyone has a better way I'm all ears. -
a hotshot would only have to drive 56k miles a year to make 70k, so if there only driving like 1000 miles a week they can be home alot more then you..
-
By these numbers a guy could profit 200k a year driving 150k miles, or just over 6k/month right?
Sounds way to good to be true, but im still listening. -
1.80-2.00 pm mile is not hard to get, Im guessing that with all that home time I could build some really good loads
just so we are clear, not everyone is away from home for weeks at a time, I only had 2 loads this year that I had to stay out for more then 3 days. -
Im not going to fight you on this, like Ive said before if your happy then thats all that matters. you have not been in the game very long, give it some time and you will find better paying jobs, trust me.
Best of luck to you. -
