I have used a certain resistor to fool the boost sensor on the accert and have seen throttle response waken right up from its stock form and not too much black smoke. Wonder if adding this to the mix could improve the throttle response with a stock ecm. The turbo you speak of bolts right in?

does anyone know how to make the fuel temp power harness for 3406e the correct way. i have read many of these post. i think i have all the right hardware just need to knw what wires too cut

550 is all i thnk i had mine done a couple of weeks ago. u have to make sure your tranny can handle it. i.e if you are needing any tranny work and u ugrade it will destroy bad clutches fast

I've tried that, when you break down a 625 high pressure turbo the only difference to the 550 and below is the inlet housing and wastegate settings. I fitted a 625 inlet housing and adjusted the wastegate up on a 550 NXS that had a bullydog tuner and injectors mods by Far Call. I dont think there was a massive gain in overall power even though the engine produce a higher peak boost pressure however the exhaust temps were lower allowing the driver to stay on the power longer in the hills before exhaust temps got out of control which was what we were after when doing the swap anyway.

A 2WS 3406E can be uprated to 1000+ Hp if you want. If you talk to CAT all they can to this engine do is exactly what you have, a 550.MichaelW90 Thanks this.

I didn't know what the differences were. Interesting that they kept the same size turbine wheel and increased the turbine A/R Ratio to get rid of some EGBP in the manifold.

When the exhaust sleeve went through my turbos I was going to get the 625hp set, but the dealer had the 475-550 turbos in stock so I decided not to wait to order the different top charger.
