Your first mistake was to let glass warm up...in extreme cold, you dress really warm, and just a little heat on the feet. You want the glass to maintain a cold posture..so the wet doesn't melt and become ice.
Sounds weird....but it works to keep you moving!

Yeah sounds a bit different.. I was at the TA in commerce city pulled out and it started to frost on the inside it's down hovering around 0-5°... So I probably should not turn the heater until I start going down the road?

If your drivin a Pete, make sure you have it set to outside air and not recirc. Clean interior glass with rubbing alcohol. Never heard of keeping the glass cold to prevent frost on the inside. Live and run a lot in Canada and northern Alberta and don't have issues keeping the glass clear.
otherhalftw and brenes-built Thank this. -
Shouldn't have to worry about the engine until you're dealing with -10 and below. Not a problem if you idle, but if you have an APU you're going to need to run the engine every few hours.

Ok ever since I released my trailer brakes last night in colorado, the air valve on the trailer has been puking air... It's pretty bad, it's got the governor firing every 5-10 minutes... I had a bunch of snow and ice built up...
-
So you said you set your trailer brakes when parked? Never do it in winter
-
Wind chill factor only matters to exposed flesh, otherwise you could have ice form at 40 degrees on a windy day.
The low temps aren't looking too bad, a little -0 in Wyoming tonight.

Once you get down into the single digits, some styles of air line connectors that they use on trailers brake lines leak like a sieve!
If your air dryer is functioning properly, there isn't any need to use the air line antifreeze. But to use it, you can pour it into the airlines at the glad hand connections, and it will circulate back into the trailer system. You can get it out at the trailer tank drain valves. Or, you will see it leaking out of the connections that are seeping air at the low temps.brenes-built Thanks this.
