thanks shadowed, good to here he's still with us. I haven't really bothered with facebook much anymore, and this is a more targeted audience.

Supposedlyou don't need ifta stickers and permits till Feb. I am at home and haven't gotten mine. So I called permit dept. and they just mailed them out this week, supposedly and she told me the old ones are good till Feb.
I think it still looks bad crossing scales. -
It takes at least 6 months to learn the system.... have a little patience as you will be learning where to go and what to haul.
After running "the system" for the first year or two I settled on running WI to TX/FL or the SE in general.
I would take CA loads if I had enough LTL's to make up for the cheap eastbound freight... and I usually never headed out west without at least $3K on the deck (back when fuel was $1.00/gallon). I often had a $4500.00 revenue load with 3 or 4 LTL's.
And I was not afraid to bounce home rather than sit for more thana day or so... I always had good outbound loads out of WI and just couldn't see sitting.
Work with your co-ordinator and you should make decent money... but you need to learn about each other. -
flightline, you got to stand up to him. at mercer you got run your show, and call him regularly , dont wait , call every hour. and do you have laptop or smartphone to check the loadboard?/
ran into a new driver 3 weeks ago that had no idea about the loadboard, his wife had been checking the broker load board.
heard about this forum in ca the other day and decided to check it out, not to active is it. -
I do use the loadboard.
Just not real pushy. and stay out of zone 7
Have tried commiting on loads and it seems to come back refused. Proabably bcause of the parameters.
I think I pissed coordinator initially and hasn't gone well since. Ask for another cordinator last month and got no where.
I'm sure things will turn around as freight picks up. -
are you matching or commiting to a load , when you see a load refused you can still go back and match yourself to it.
you may very well have someone refusing you on loads, when you see some that you havent refused or talk to anyone about , call and ask about it.
or go see jason in contractor relations, most times when things start bad with a coordinator they ususally dont get better.
if ya want another one , ask til ya get it. be pushy or else you get pushed over.
refresh me what is zone 7, i dont know as i go anywhere with a paved road -
Zone 7 is the northeast states like maine and new york according to the map they gave me at oriantation.
Being my first month, I don't feel I should be to pushy till I've proven myself. I'm heading out tomorrow and we'll see how it goes. I will be asking what my parameters are and cleaning them up. I'm thinking that is the problem.
Jason in contractors relations did call last week before lose of 3 loads and I told him things are OK. Guess I should've spoke up. Easier to rant on here. -
Friend, this is your business - trucking. You will only proove yourself as the good business man by making great NET income at the end of the year. Don't be intimidated by others who made a lot of money or mercer. This is your business. You need to run it your way. If you are not making NET money that you're looking for, re-evaluate your self, as the business. Keep in mind, no one cares about you as much
As you do, in the business sense. Who gives the rip about some one not doing the paper work correctly and you have to wait
At the shipper for 4-7 hours - like I did few times. - you do. After I've gotten my paperwork, I called the agent and told them to increase my pay by $$x hours after 3 or unload my trailer. One agent refused to do so, and my trailer was about to get lighter when they called me back and agreed. Keep in mind : who you are and why you do what you do. -
Call Jason up and tell him what problems you are having. He will help you, just be cool calm and collected about it. He is a good guy, and will help you. Whatever you do, do not get pushy with an agent. Unless of course you never want any good loads from them.

flightline, we are only trying to help you.
but when someone calls and asks are things ok, dont tell them yes unless they are.
as oscar said be be calm and straightforward when you talk to jason
