So somebody decided to remove the radio from my 2003 western star 4900 day cab by cutting all the wires with a dykes. Anybody know the diagram for the wiring? nothing is color coded and its all in numbers/letters on the white wires. i have figured out the power/constant/ground. any input would be much appreciated!

Gotta love the all white wires in Western Stars! lol

    I deal with it alot!

You can call a dealer and get the wiring diagram and it will tell you whatthe codes for the wires mean.

I have the same truck, same problem..... I pulled the door panels and tried to trace the wires but they're tied up so tight I can't even move them to trace by hand

Go to a wrecker and cut the plug out of a wrecked WS. leave as much wire as possible on the plug then just match up the number codes and splice the plug in. May as well get the radio while you're at it.

    T-RIX Thanks this.

if you have them I'd be thankful for them... I've looked the wires over and really don't see any numbers or anything... but I'll look them over again, thanks

    Hello,
I have a 98 4964fx and just went through figuring out all the overhead console wiring. I purchased a wrecked 2003 cab and swapped over the overhead console and complete interior among other things. The overhead console radio wiring is as follows:
    RA01C- accessory power
    RA02C- battery power
    GD2BC- common(ground)
    speakers
    RA28A- RF positive
    RA05G- RF negative
    RA29A- LF positive
    RA07G- LF negative
    RA09A- RR positive
    RA10A- RR negative
    RA11A- LR positive
    RA12A- LR negative
I bought a Freightliner plug that fit my radio, cut off the DIN plugs, and wired it to the WS wiring as above using solder and shrink tube butt connectors and it worked mint. Be aware that the wires that come off the speakers in the doors have different numbering than the ones you will find in the overhead console. Hope this helps!
