WELL THE HIRING FREEZE LIFTED TODAY AND IM JUST WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THEM ON WHEN I START.

IM COMING IN TO THE COMPANY AS AN experienced driver but i have to go to the little driven thing they have for new grad drivers i dont mind really ive been out of a civilen rig for a year and this is my frist time with a reffer so i need to learn a few things.

 

Yeah, I'm just sitting at hotel waiting for trainer so I can get out on the road.

Looks like I have pretty good trainer that will actually show me what I'm gonna need to know. Thank goodness. First load going from TX to FL.

 

Day 1 of driving we went from Rockwall, TX to Palatka, FL.

hello,I want to do a short term 6 month lease from trans am.would this be a smart decesion as I dont want to own a truck.I just want to make as much money as possible while getting the experience I need to go local.And I like to stay on the highway.I was a company driver for trans am for 6 months and hated those 2 lane backroads to the meathouse.I drive the whole 11hr. shift nonstop.pickup/deliver early.always was nice to my dm.when drivers fail in the lease and go in the whole,is it the company like THEY claim or the drivers fault for not doing the job right???Im torn between the company or lease driver decesion.Im confident that I will do the job right.So many negative and discourging threads about trans am lease program.on the other hand I have had face to face conversations with a few sucessful L/O.But most are pissed and coplain about quitting.Please help with your opinion.thanks in advance.

 

My first 4 weeks as company driver was great for trans am.Im a newbie driver,but I fell in love with the kw t660.Did 6 months company with trans am and they treated me fairly good.But their directions to pick ups and finals are sometimes wrong.Call the guard shack and get directions from the company you are going to and your fuel time must match on logs!!!the only other problems was my apu acting a fool at the worst possible time and the long waits at the meathouse.meathouse advice----keep your windows rolled up and doors shut to avoid a 15 minute fight with the flys!!!!!If they put You on a swap.request the swap drivers phone # to get accurate location and swap time.I ran good the first 4 months then found myself swapping often and had to learn this the hard way.Overall,compared to what Ive heard and read about others.trans am is pretty good,in my opinion

On swaps with TA, always request the swap drivers phone number, or give them permission to give yours to him. TA will never, I repeat NEVER, give you a good ETA on a swap. NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
