usually people are given a second chance. specially if he's been good from the start.
wait till next week to see what happens. then decided what to do.
calling the broker and trying to find a load. you might have an empty truck for all you know. but it's the holiday anyways. don't think there will be anyone to call till tuesday.

Have you checked to see if he's cashed his check?
I'm guessing he's ignoring you at this point and has just shut his phone off. It's just not coincidence that he got his pay and then disappeared on you. You're obviously a much more considerate employer than he is a considerate employee. Don't fret too much over the deal until you hear something one way or the other but when you do don't give the guy too much slack either, he WILL make you regret it later if you do. These guys always come back with a long and sad story and 99% of the time it's a crock of turds.Big John Thanks this. -
Did he not put alternate numbers on his application? Call his wife, brother/sister or next of kin.
I would wait to see what happened, medical condition, accident or in the pokey. -
You're up awfully late worrying over this guy. If it will make you feel any better, call the jail and see if they have him. Jails will almost always tell you if someone has been arrested. And the hospitals, they should at least be able to tell you if he's in but probably nothing else with the hippa rules. At least that way you'll know what not to worry over. Hope this goes well for you.

take a chill pill... maybe the guy had personal problems, lost his phone who knows, #### happen, the OP said he hadn't talked to him yet, so you dont even know what happen, and your insulting him?
i guess you would make a great trainer for cr england and the bottom feeders harrasing students/new drivers. -
you gave a cash bonus after 3 weeks?not bad.
-
well, if he gave the other drivers a bonus. can't exclude one guy just becuase he's a newbie.
-
Betcha his phone is going right to voicemail becuz he turned it off!

If this is your first time having someone disappear get used to it. You'll learn to either laugh about it or it will drive you crazy. It doesn't matter how well you pay or how well you do the background. I've had drivers that make 65+ home every weekend and you say something wrong in their mind and they disappear. After 35 years of it you will have a lot of humorous stories to tell.

I bet if u check back, this will be his pattern from job to job.Let him go and get someone u can depend on and when u can, give ur good driver an extra $100 cash and say thx I really do appreciate ur help. That will go along way, just a thought.
SHC Thanks this.
