Oh, don't get me started on RA wisdom...

Shortly after we picked up this trailer, it began to feel like I was pulling just a little dead weight. With the small highway hills here, this Pete should've been able to pull 25k on the trailer easily without having to downshift. After pulling aside, I set the brakes and heard the trailer "thunk...thunk...creeeeeeeaaaak" as the pressure changed. I looked at my trainer and said, "Uh...that ain't right." LOL

So we send a Qualcom to RA and pull into this TA in Waterford, CT. After waiting 5 hrs for them to get us in, they look over the trailer brakes and say, "Yup, the LF brakes are out." 20 minutes later, guy knocks on my window...

"Ya, Prime says to roll to Pittston and get it fixed there. They don't want us to fix it."

Me - "Um...are you sure that's what they said?"
Guy - "Yes. They sent us a message that they didn't want us to do any repairs and to do it at the terminal."
Me - "Yaaaahhh. OK. Can you give us a minute before you kick us out?"
    Guy - "No Problem."

So my instructor and I call dispatch and we're like, "Okay, apparently RA told the TA to run us 200+ miles with bad brakes. How do we Qualcom that? (Cracking up laughing because we weren't going anywhere no matter WHAT those mechanics said or thought RA had told them)

Dispatch - "Yaaahhh...thank you for not doing this on the Qualcom. Let's get RA on the horn."

In essence, RA had told them not to worry about the airmax lines (there was apparently a bad line between the tires.) The TA thought they meant not to do anything.

    I knew something wasn't right and I'm only a #### PSD.

Lesson kids: If something doesn't seem right...FOLLOW UP!!!!!!

JCW hunkered down in Abilene for the night. Headed home for some Xmas pulled pork on the way to Butler, WI. I love my trucker neighbor! Safe place AND a supported pad for a full rig.

10 inches of gravel is going to cost me a bundle. Maybe in a few years.

    Tulia TX at Rip Griffin's.

Talked to a local cop while at the Walmart after droppin' my load. He told me everyone in their parking lot is going to get an expensive parking present from Santa Cop at 0600 - or towed. Hmmm... little Shell station lot is so full of ruts you can't park in what's left. So its off to Tulia!

    :biggrin_25525:

...and I think I'll roll up to Amarillo for a free shower. Should be through the yard Monday.

@ home in Rochester for the Christmas holiday then off to Spring, MO to test out. Would love a trifecta. Thank goodness my trainer has a girlfriend in this area or i would never have made it home for Christmas.

At home for Christmas, with a greyhound ticket to catch up to my TNT trainer next week. Love being home, and all of the hugs I got from the kids... (and others)

JCW pulled enough recap to make it home. He should be here within the next 2 hours.

Get my permits and mail and a load with the message "is this alright?" Uh-Oh. Pick up in Paw Paw delivering to Bridgeton, MO 0600. Can make it, but worried about getting reloaded for the holiday weekend. He ensures me were good, so I pick it up and break back at the J in Lake Station. Good, fast unload at Schnuck's and a reload out of Hershey in Edwardsville. Pick up anytime, delivers in Portland :biggrin_25517: Tennessee :biggrin_25511: 2200 on Monday. Hmmm, 300 mile load with three days on it. Hey, but I can take load home before delivering. Whooppee! Not really what I was looking for, you know. I get to drive 700 miles, but only paid for 300. In fact, I would have rather just stayed home yesterday instead of netting 800 miles in four days. Got screwed over Thanksgiving too, so no more volunteering to work the holidays. Hey, I was a Marine. I should have learned that already!
Okay, done griping. It will be great to spend to spend some time with the family.

    Merry Christmas all!
