Introduction

Hi everyone. I just discovered and joined this forum today so I thought I better introduce myself. I was a solo OTR driver for 6 years. My first real job (as opposed to my time with my mentor who trained me for 6 months) was with CRST (which was only for a few months), then I worked the rest of my time on the road for Direct Transit. My forum user name is my CB handle (although I doubt anyone who knew me is still out there). I loved it out there. I got to see places and meet people that I never would have working a minimum wage job in my home town. I really had a blast. I got off the road when it stopped being fun which was when everyone wanted teams to run their freight so they could get it yesterday....(and my mentor was the only driver I trusted enough to sleep behind). Besides....I liked being able to stop at my favorite truck stops and party with my bros (like Buzzard, Sneaky Snake, Half Breed, White Eagle, Bandit, and 10 Speed just to name a few.). Had things not changed I'd still be on the road. Not a day goes by that I don't miss it and my friends. Anyway....that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

 

I was there in the late 80s, too. I was out of the Ontario, CA terminal.
