I've taled to a few folks...
i've come to the conclusion that the only real thing you gain is lots of risk...
the chance to make a few exta $$ does not seem match up with the risk level...
and that explains why so many places try to get the drivee to lease....
They get a near guaranteed income stream, and no risk...
You, the driver take the risk on, often loose benifits, and IF everything goes right (when does this happen in trucking), you might make an extra buck IF you are good at managing a buissiness....but how many folls with that kind of talent, experance, and education can out do an entire company? Imo not often...
so imo unless you own a truck, or lease it from a 3rd party, don't lease. It is like a timeshare....great for everybody but the owner...you love it at first...but then reality sets in....
Good things about a lease!!!!

Leasing anything is a bad idea in most cases. Leasing a truck to a brand new driver with no experience should be against the law.

It can be done if you want to work and can control your fuel costs. I rarely run above 60 mph and average over 7.5 mpg. There are guys that lease from my company that you just can't get to understand that and they don't make it. If your main goal becoming an owner/op is just so you can drive faster then you are doing it for the wrong reason. I am averaging right at .60 per mile after expenses in my lease plus I will own the truck at the end.

well look at it this way if they buy it for 50cents a gallon and you have to pay $3.75 a gallon well they made $3.25 a gallon off you for ever gallon you by so that how they make money aint hard to figure out if you buy millions of gallons at a time
