I currently have an LG VU with AT&T as my carrier. I could possibly change that, should I go to Verizon and switch my cell service over to them too...might as well get a new phone out of the deal. AT&T's service seems to run a bit more than comparable plans from Verizon, and also their service area doesn't seem as good.

If you switch from AT&T to Verizon you will have to get a new phone as the two carriers use different network technologies.

    Its not...
you just need to $$ for it!!
Busses and trains usually drive pretty regular routes....so they find out pretty fast which solution is best for them....that and they are using commercial grade plans and equipment.
as a trucker, most folks are trying to use a phone broadband plan, one meant for limited use as their ONLY or PRIMARY internet accesss
these plans are not meant for that, just mobile acess till you get to the home or office....
for "WIFI", that is what truckstops sell for a few $$ per night, hour, or month...
mobil broadband is what you have if you use you cellphone or a mobile usb or mifi card to get it...they all have pretty severe limits and $$....just part of life on the road, expect some things to cost more....

Some older verizion plans were unlimited....but if you do not have it, you are out of luck.....
unlimited never really meant all you could download...it was always gonvorned by "fair use"....so if you were not in the top 3-5% of uses, you are fine...
but considering how few non truckers watch movies using their cell phone data plans....if you do more tha surfing and email, you were, and would get a warning about excessive use....
