Lancaster, TX at the terminal. Got a preplan on my way to Desoto to deliver a 4 mile trip in the morning and backed up with a load getting me out of Texas so works for me. With all the horror stories about Texas I hear I'm more than happy to pull a trailer a few blocks if it gets me outta here fast.

Yeah ... I hear the horror stories about Texas also ... but I've yet to not get a solid back if I get a short trip ... sometimes I just get the long trip straight out.

Still at home ... doing the dishes.

Occasionally I get that short trip stuff in texas, but I have run more miles thru texas than any other state, but i like it mostly.I think they just pick on newer(if your newer?) and it depends on your dm's relationship with the planners it seems...........:biggrin_25525:

I don't mind the shorty, easy money for little work and it came backed up with a 500 mile trip. I'm guessing my DM has a pretty good relationship with the various planners, I rarely sit and 90% of my loads are over 500 miles. I rarely get down thins way, have not been at this terminal in about 7 months. I seem to run most of my miles in PA,OH and then IN IL and MO. I don't mind that at all, I'll run up and down I80 all day, every day, easy parking every 30 miles.

    fr8monkey Thanks this.

San Antonio, TX sitting in the TA exit 583 off I10. Went to my delivery tonight, place closed, bummer.. so I booked it over here and parked, 9.6 miles away from delivery that is @ 1700. Think ill get there around 0900, sleep in and go from there.
pulling out of Clovis, nm this morning was fun, I got to play ice road trucker for quite awhile. 43k in the box probably helped.
Ran pretty decent miles this week, only have 15hrs left on 70, and 1:30 hours rolling off tomorrow @ midnight.. wonder if I can get up to a terminal after delivery and get my windshield wipers fixed, only low range works now...

I just reposition myself out of range of Lancaster and Houston...... No problems with Texas unless I get called into one of them for my empty... Most of the time it works just fine.

If I sit anywhere near Lancaster or Houston I get the crappy first PPlan that takes all day to load or get off my truck then I lose the second one because I cannot make the pickup time. So I move myself away from all of you and wala one PPlan going 1000+ Really does not cost them any fuel most of the time because the pickup ends up being the same way I went.

I know I probably should not do this but until someone says something oh well up on I30 I go or way down I10 towards Orange... I was hired as OTR not sit wait and wait for what $25....plus one mile????

Last time that happened it was 8 hours before I even got loaded.... No thanks!

We will see how this goes, parked at Sams Club being unloaded on the crappy load now. Oddly enough I got 15 miles mt and 15 miles loaded to go literally across the highway from Lancaster. As long as they don't take hours I'll count it as a win, $30 or so to drive 10 minutes round trip and hang out for a couple hours, then get the 2nd load and be far far away from here. Load that got me down here was good anyways, 1500 miles in a little over 48 hours.

Uhhg, messaged my dm this morning after calling my delivery several time w/ no answer, can't deliver this paper load till 1900, bummer.. so im stuck in a TA parking lot doing my best not to go in and spend $ on shiny things..

Anyone else keep getting a fuel route on their current load? I've gotten 3 today just sitting here, and I've already done fueled for this route.. strange..
