What is the 5000.00 sign on bonus about, and how is it paid out, and are you up for years of service? Can anybody help?

It's an up to $4000 bonus.

$1000 paid first check, $1000 paid second check, plus you get a $500 laptop or GPS.

Then they offer a $500 safety bonus because they normally don't have any.

Then if you live in their "Green Mile" are which is where they need drivers bad, you get an exta $1000. That is determined by zip code an coincidently all drivers live just outside that zipcode, lol.

So you might as well say a $2500 bonus. The laptop and GPS are probably the cheapest possible.

3 years recent experience gets you .36/mile. I'm sure they go back the last 3 years only. They don't match 401K, no holiday pay. The website says nothing of layover, detention or breakdown pay.

They have a bad reputation and I wouldn't care what their bonus was. Good Luck.

Not sure about the new bonus or laptop program. But as a current driver with USA I can tell you that they do have Detention and Breakdown Pay. I average about 2600 miles a week. As for their reputation, yes they used to have a bad reputation. However, the company has a new President and he is making quite a few changes. The Driver Advisory Board is really the ones to thank for all the changes too.

Also, if you don't get a Safety Bonus, then its your own fault, not the companies.

"They used to have a bad reputation". ????? Ummmm, no, they still do! Hiring a new president doesn't make it all good.

I'm at Roehl now and wish I'd started there instead of USA. I don't have anything nice to say about USA anymore and I'll just leave it at that.
