All i said it would be nice to see the company and l/o numbers like say once a month, but it has already been denied by U2 so i guess that is it. No big deal tho. Let us carry on to the next debate shall we?

I wanted to go with PRIME but i was turned down and all they would say is that they have no further information for me at this time after telling me that they have better qualified applicants at this time. Wish the best of luck to all them that do get into PRIME. I have signed up with PAM. Getting ready to start school on the 9th of next month. Wish me luck.

For those drivers that are considering Prime (or ANY lease, lease purchase plan) please spend some time filling out a business plan AHEAD of time. The following is a link offered by The Truckers Helper which may give you guys a template.

    http://www.truckershelper.com/operationscost.php

It has been my contention for years that lease programs are stacked against the lease operator due to the higher than normal truck payments deducted on a WEEKLY basis. This is why I advocate using a 3rd party finance company or buy the truck from a source OTHER than the carrier you plan to lease on with.

EVERY lease operator (still making payments) begins the week in the hole financially. Each "hole" may be deeper than some one elses but the driver will spend 2 to 3 days each week making nothing for himself in the way of earnings while he attempts to pay all his fixed and variable expenses. Once he meets that thresh hold then he can start paying himself.

Remember Prime (and all other carriers for that matter) will deduct the truck payment and all other "fees" from your settlement BEFORE you collect a dime.

The truly sad part of these lease programs is to watch hard working men and women sacrafice their home time and family life for weeks and even months at a time in the hopes that "someday" they will own their own truck and be able to get home more often. This forum is filled with examples of broken hopes, dreams, lost families and lost homes due to lease programs.

Good advice... I always offer the same. Now here's some more... get a copy of the lease and read it through, make sure you understand it fully or take it to someone to have them advise you. Next, before you even consider signing it, run your company truck as you would a lease truck, and operate a "shadow business" using the numbers from your company-side loads.

If it doesn't work on paper, its not going to work with 80,000 lbs of rolling metal. You need to adjust your thinking and driving until it does.

BTW... as long as the revenue is there, the lease program at Prime does work. And there are plenty of folks who do make it work. So when you sow your negativity, include that as well.
