hey what do the air cards cost for the slingboxes can some one help me out thanks . looks like this would be awsome to have for the truck .hope everyone is doing well .peace becarefulle out there

 

beleive you can use wifi hotspots as well. my verizon card costs me 59.99 a month for service , card was 9.99 with two year agreement

 

Vulcan also said that was a simple list. You can always change it up. Don't have to stick with wheat bread or white bread or whatever. Also...think about what you are buying too. I guess thats a given...but my wife likes hillshire farm deli meats in those glad plastic boxes. Hers cost about 4 bucks. I bought a package of Oscar Meyer Turkey that was 2 for 5 bucks. Not only did I save some, but I also can make more sandwhiches too.

I think another thing to keep in mind is to watch what you eat. Even though Im a hefty guy....I try to stay away from boxed or canned foods as they always have lots of sodium (salt) which isn't good for the ticker.

Some people have mentioned the lunch box heaters. Heck, if you can get your wife / husband to put the leftovers in those, and freeze em....they can make for a good dinner out on the road. Also, there are some coolers out there that can keep things cool for five days with a bag or two of ice. Then there are also some that can plug into a cig adapter too.

I know they make small ranges/ovens for camper trailers....why cant they put those same things into the sleeper? I know space is always an issue, but there are ways to be creative and work with that.

 

The air card for the laptop runs $25 to $60 depdening on how much you use, most companies have an unlimited card for $60 and then you can use the Slingbox 24 hours. The Sling box itself does not require an aircard it's the laptop that does. Hopefully that helps.

 

McDonalds now has RedBox video rentals at each of their stores. You can rent with a credit card and I think you can return at any location. Rentals are $1 a day. Cheep way to get a movie.

 

I was spending $10 or more a day while I was training. now I've got my own truck and a brand new 12v cooler and lunch box heater I can get by for much less ( I hope) I went to wally world and spent about $80 that should get me almost home, going out for 3 weeks. I bought a bunch of canned goods to tide me over as well, alot of them are not going to be part of a well balanced diet but they will fill the void.

my last trainer said he did alot of grilling while on home time and cooked excessive quantities for leftovers on the road.

entertainment? got a bunch of books, small DVD player 3 dozen movies that I can swap out when I get back, and in the future a laptop.

that is all I need, I hope

I normally take a hunderd dollars out of my check a week to use as spending and I never spend it all. I get my food when I'm home a stock up. I carry a laptop, tv, books, movies, and a PS2. I spend most of my free time on my laptop. I use my cellphone as a modem for internet. I have unlimited use and great speeds. My husban records movie off of the tv at home so I always have new movies to take with me. I have found that I spend around 50 week normally if I don't buy anything. So the extra I have left goes into a saving account. Now If I would quit smoking I'd be set.

 

Can someone (Vulcan?) explain this slingbox to me? If you don't want to, could you point me in the direction of it's website? It sounds very interesting. Thanks.

 

Say what cellphone service do you have where you can connect to the Internet (laptop ) ??
