Thank you all for respond
Couple thinks :
1. Before i will hit the road with my truck, am will drive two runs to Florida with my friend who did the same think last year. Also i will try go lockal couple times.
2 Insurance and all paper work are possible to do. To find job as own operator is not that bad, maybe is not top pay and not top company but i belive is bather for me to start on my own.
Backing to engines, so caterpillar engine is fine ?? some people thinks that the parts are way more expensive than cummis or detroit.

Are you still going to feel that way once you figure out that all the things you didn't know when you were buying the truck have resulted in the truck costing you more than you're making with it? That can and does happen to guys. And doing a couple runs with a buddy is not nearly time to learn all you'll need to know.
Lots of guys go O/O right out of school and most of them fail at it. That's not to say you won't be able to do it. But if you don't have the required skill (and you don't) you'd better have a boatload of luck or you could end up losing your shirt.Bigarmin88 Thanks this. -
Yep you hit the spot, and a lot of them don't even make it they are clueless and can't handle the pressure.

Please drive for a company first ( some have done o/o first!) but its wise to learn when there is less pressure on you ( blank wants their money if you eat or not) . 3 months and bank sends people to come get it back !Best of luck !

Local company, or mega carrier?
They hire newbies? -
I will let you know what progress i made, about pressure i dont think that I will be more stressful like last summer. Having 2 ,4 guys working for me and than find out that the contractor you working for him is not gonna pay you ... . and you have to pay to employe's. Any way, we will se how gonna turn on.

Kenworth, Peterbilt seem to hold their resale better than the other brands.

North American Van Lines Freight division & then later household Ft Wayne,Ind...They no longer train newbies...Later on I bought another one from Mayflower in Carmel.Ind & went household & paid that one off early too but they dont train anymore either...My recommendation if you go that route is to buy a decent used one from them...Keep your payments low & pay off your truck earlier than buying a new one with all the bells, whistles & fancy chrome..They dont make any more than the used plain jane basic tractor...There are Cos out there that you can buy lease purchase from & they also train but Im not sure who they are...Maybe somebody else can answer that for you..

Cat has exited the on highway engine maker market. They could not meet the new stricter EPA regs.
Older Cat engines have higher cost for parts and repairs as compared to Detroits and Cummins.
As for fuel economy Detroits seem to have the best mpg followed by Cummins and then Cat.
Of course fuel economy is subjective and has more to do with the driver than the other factors (speed, terrain, weather, weight, type of trailer, aerodynamics).Furman Thanks this.
