They can dip other places and the stick will be red. Ever heard of the innocent until proven guilty or emotional and financial damages done when it comes to the court of law? Trust me, I will not, never had the problem, hesitate to sue or counter sue if I know that I'm right. Stop being these scared little scattered mice. I don't care what anyone thinks, no evidence - no case. Same thing with the egr and vgt. I pay for the maintenance and the expenses. Government can take their emission rules and suck on em. Llc's can be made more
Then once per year with the same owner, filling bankruptcy with the llc means nothing to me. So, stop shaking in your boots with these regulations.

I have an idea. Go buy your favorite flavor of 2stroke oil and USE it in the quantities you see fit. You seem pre-disposed to the idea that it is beneficial; and are fishing here for corroboration for your belief. Stop fishing and just do it.

Since this post on my thread has no useful nor negative info, deleting it will not effect anything.

Well here is the test results I was talking about earlier. http://www.thedieselgarage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140 Scroll down about half way and the posts for the test and results start. The chart for the results has been deleted, but I have it saved on my computer and will post it later when I am not on my wife's laptop.
As for factual results...I have ran Howes, Powerserv, Lucas, and Scheaffers over the years. The Howes does nothing than make a person feel warm and fuzzy inside. It barely helps with anit gel and does nothing for lubricity. Powerserv helps more in anti gel and was almost a wash in MPG with no real noticable gain. As for Lucas, I tried it for about 4 months and even "cleaned" my fuel system like they use to instruct by filling the filters. I did this once and after seeing its thickness will not ever do this again. I also didn't see any change in MPG or engine smoothness. The best I have found that is fairly available is the Schaeffer's summer and winter treats. I run both and only run the winter treat when temps are below 10* outside. My engine runs smoother with less chatter. Also it picked up roughly .2-.3 MPG. Since I have used Schaeffer products for years I knew this was worth the cost and it has paid for itself just in the smoothness of the engine.
As for the 2 cycle oil...this is meant for weedeaters and associated equipment. You would need to figure out your own mix ratio and then would it even still be profitable or worth while? I highly doubt it. Also consider that the modern engines and injectors are designed to run with a certain fuel blend. By adding a oil like 2 cycle or some thing thick like Lucas you are changing the operation of said parts. The injectors are not meant to flow thicker fuel than what the ULSD is. You will usually harm the injectors along with the fuel pump doing this. As for the DOT dipping your tanks...that is a big chance you take. Personally I would not risk running anything red in my fuel just for the fact that you may get shut down when dipped. IS the risk worth getting put out of service and delaying a pickup/delivery? Yes a person is suppose to be innocent until proven guilty, but with red in your tanks you will look guilty from the get go and the IRS and DOT will fight you more than you can imagine. -
IRS and dot have been battled with before. Publicity has a way of changing mind of the officials. I pay their pay checks - they are my servants, not the other way around. Black dye works miracles.

I am not trying to start anything here, but you are willing to add dye to your fuel system to cover up the red of 2 cycle oil? That does not male sense at all considering you will have to add in the cost of the dye to the price of the 2 cycle oil which if there was any gains this would surely eat it up.
Yes the IRS and DOT have been battled before and it doesn't matter if you do pay their checks. If they want to nail you for something they have proof or probable cause on then they will. Why give them a reason to come knocking when the trucking industry is already fighting on enough other fronts. Also think of the money you will spend in legal fees, lost work time, and impound fees. Take a look at the link I have provided and see the proof of what works and what doesn't. -
I don't know where you guys are buying your 2 stroke oil but every bottle (brand) of it that I've used (and I've used LOTS in my snowmobile) is blue, not red. Marked fuel (in Alberta) is RED. Different companies have different shades but they are all RED and look nothing like blue fuel treated with 2 stroke. Years ago, a farmer friend of mine was having issues with his Versatile tractor (cummins engine). Seems, every spring, after sitting all winter, when he started the tractor it would run like crap, missing and sputtering. He would put some 2 stroke in the fuel and in short order, the engine would straighten right out and run smooth. This happened 2 or 3 springs in a row so he decided to just treat his 500 gal tank with 2 stroke every time it was filled. Since doing this, that tractor has never missed a beat, that's been about 15 years. Another buddy had a 600 Kenworth with a S60 that, when pulling a hill loaded would start to miss and only fire on 5 cylinders. He though it would straighten itself out but after a few months decided that it was likely a sticking injector and treated a tank of fuel with 2 stroke. The very next hill he climbed loaded, the engine started to miss briefly then, about half way up the hill started hitting on all 6 and never missed a beat since. About 12-13 years ago I had a Ford power stroke and on day, the fuel gauge started acting up in one tank. It would stick @ 1/2 a tank and then drop to E all at once when the tank was nearly empty. This went on for a few months until I thought perhaps some 2 stroke would straighten it out. Put some in the next fill and the gauge worked perfect ever since. I have an '06 WS and the fuel gauge in it has been acting goofy. It would drift from full the near empty back to half and all over the map. I put some 2 stroke in it and, so far, the gauge has been reading accurately and consistently. However, I haven't driven the truck enough to know whether it's fixed or just behaving temporarily. Time will tell. Say what you will about 2 stroke, when it comes to lubrication in a diesel, it works. Plain and simple.

I agree about lucas fuel additive as well. When i service my truck every 12k miles and change the fuel filters I like to top them off with Lucas instead of diesel if I have a gallon laying around. And without fail that first tankful of fuel after topping the fuel filters with Lucas always gets me anywhere from 3 to 5 tenths better mpg's than normal.
With the 2 stroke. I did several modifications to my 4x4 pickup - manual lock out hubs, auxillary overdrive - all this stuff over the course of a few days after I drove the truck home new off the lot. That I really don't know if or how the 2 stroke helped with economy. Many guys say it helps. I don't know. I do know it's cheap and definitely not going to hurt your injectors.Mommas_money_maker Thanks this. -
So, what are your before and after results?
I swear by diesel fuel, it gets me 5.6 mpg for $3.70 a gallon.
ColumbiaBoB Thanks this. -
I get close to 7 mPg for $3.4 with blk
