I'm 25, a smoker, and my 1st year will be up with CRST will be up soon. I have a 2011 Volvo with about 180k miles on the clock, stocked with the following things:
Rand Mcnally TND510
22" LCD in the sleeper
PS3
Microwave
Fridge
CB
Laptop capable of playing fairly recent games at medium settings with a decent framerate
30gig iPod
Phone with wifi hotspot capability
I also have wiring going from the sleeper to the dash, so the PS3/Laptop can be hooked into the truck stereo, laptop has an HDMI out, so movies and/or games can be played on the lcd as well. HDMI switch is in the bunk to switch between laptop/ps3 with a push button.
There is also a headphone jack in the sleeper next to the tv, so games can be played and movies can be watched while co-driver is in motion.
My phone is capable of serving as a wifi hotspot while on the road, dosn't always get extremely good signal, however when stopped is good for between 120-230kbps sustained download speed, which is better than most truck stop wifi access.
Anyway, as I stated in the beginning, I'm an experienced driver. Not as experienced as some people here, however I've done enough learning, bumped enough docks, and attempted to follow CRST's horrible directions enough times to where I've found out the following things, and I expect the following as well.
Don't follow CRST's directions, as once again they are in fact retarted.
If I catch you using the jake in heavy rain and/or snow, I will slap you, period.
Use common sense with my GPS, if it cannot find the address when we program it, look it up on google maps and find the correct one. If it tells you to take a turn that is obviously incorrect, dont take it.
If it tells you that you have reached your destination and you have not, don't freak out as its not the end of the world.
If you get into honest trouble I WILL help get you out of it.
If you are in an area and you need help I expect you to wake me up and ask for such. This includes bumping a dock, backing into a parking spot, avoiding obstacles, whatever it may be.
If you use your cell phone while driving I'm fine with that, however I expect you to show me that you can be a safe and competent driver, as I will show you as well. If you are in an area with heavy traffic, I expect you to not be screwing around with your cell phone, the ipod, or the gps. Your gf may be important, but once you have no cash coming in shes going to dump you anyway. That means your running over a mazda while in dallas = being fired, which = no more money, which = no more gf, which = it would've been better to tell her to just hold on to begin with. As now you're broke, unemployed AND single... Put the #### away!
If you tailgate constantly, you wont be on the truck for long, bumper to bumper traffic is one thing, however if you have to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting someone you were... Indeed following too close.
Don't brake check people, slow down in an area where they can pass you, but don't stop on the freeway and cause a pileup just because some ####### 4 wheeler is annoying you.
Smoking in the truck is fine, and smoking in the bunk is fine, however there is a ventilation system in the truck and fans that I bought to help circulate the air during the summer months as well. All I ask is that you open a window, and use a fan if needed to make sure we aren't breathing smoke 24/7.
Usually I go to sams club and/or walmart, and stock the truck with things like water, soda, trail mix, beef jerky, other snack foods, microwave meals etc... All is free to be shared, all I ask is that you pitch in as well.
The truck has 9 speakers in it, if one of us is trying to sleep the rear speakers should be off. No, this does not turn the subwoofer off.
The bottom line, is that if we drive together, we're both responsible for eachothers lives, and I expect you to be safe, responsible, and respectful, just as I will do for you. So, if someone feels up to it then message me. Also, no... I don't require experience, if you're green thats fine, as I'm open to showing someone the ropes, someone had to show me once too.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Why don't you just train? May be easier than playing the co-driver game.
-
What you do take your truck to "Trick my Truck" show? Me like yer truck post some pics! I think you will get a driver faster.
-
Training from the get go? not so much, with the amount of students this company has going through their doors, and after speaking with countless numbers of their students while at the terminals, I don't feel safe doing such a thing. Its true that it may be easier, but at the same time you're grounded at the end of every month until you find a new student, during the first week you run almost no miles, 2nd week is 50% and weeks 3/4 are supposed to be full blown team mode... But the 6 extra cpm they pay you to train them dosn't make up for the loss in miles during the beginning.
Also, as for RAG3... I don't know if your post was meant to be sarcasm, or your cowboys outfit has somehow weasled its way into your bloodstream, and is the cause for your terrible grammar... Or it might just be the cause of your thinking that, all of the items listed in my truck have nothing to do with making it more comfortable and entertaining while... the thing is being lived in.
If I wanted flashy lights, lots of chrome and obnoxious people, id just go to Oakland, or a strip club. -
They will run you solo while you are between students....granted they will drop you to .22/mi...but you aren't grounded. Also it depends on the student...if you get a student that has experience but is back for a refresher, you will run team within the first few days. Just something to consider if you have trouble finding a codriver. You seem to know enough and would be a better trainer than the majority of the trainers CRST has running for them right now.

Happy new year to you too, and I may have a guy coming in on friday that could wind up working pretty well with me.
