On the worst load I've been on yet. Picked up from P&G in NC going to Costco in West Palm Beach, FL. Got there opened doors and backed into dock 4 mins latter my beeper was going off saying I was done. I looked had a green light puled up and checked trailer was still full. Pulled up to gaured house and they said they were refusing the load because it was marked for Sams Club. While at the gaurd house someone else came up and asked if they could look inside the trailer. So they did and I turned around and went back to the dock.
Come to find out that the product on the end of the trailer was marked for Sam's Club the rest was okay. So they took that off unloaded there stuff and but the other back on. So still had 26 pallets of Prolicet on the trailer. Was runing out of time so called OS&D told them what was going on and found the nearest truck stop. P&G got Costco to take the rest of the load so will deliver it in the morning at 0700. The only good think about it is that I get Layover pay to do a 34 hr restart.

Sounds like it worked out ok. If that is your worst you have been sailing along smooth seas.

lease with any company is a bad idea.
it's good in the beginning. but the ending is never happy. -

I do have some questions though. I overheard a guy on a speakerphone complaining to the office because dispatch tried to give him a 1300 mile run with a 4 day delivery time. I never heard him mention the possibility of a drop yard. Just from reading this forum, that was the solution that popped into my head. Is getting permission to drop a load like this at a drop yard a problem at Central?
How is the maintenance account handled? Do they put minimum amounts on withdrawals from the account? Also, I saw that the L/O's of the Year had quite a spread on maintenance costs, from .033 cpm to .081 cpm. What are the variables that would cause such a spread on trucks still under warranty? Would you mind sharing what your maintenance generally runs?
Their tiered payment for L/Os on shorter runs intrigues me. Does this make shorter runs worthwhile for you, or is it a failed incentive?
Did you lease as soon as possible, or did you wait? Is this your first lease with Central? How long did you commit to on your lease? If things keep going the way they are now, will you consider leasing again when your current contract is up?
Thanks in advance for any answers you care to share!
