I left WSE after a short time with them. Don't have any complaints about them, though, except their recruiting misrepresented things to me. I retired from another career and thought I would try trucking. They told me I could get home every two weeks and that they would schedule me to get to special things (like I had a family reunion coming up in Michigan) if I let them know far enough ahead of time. Neither happened. I was out more like 3 weeks at a time, and they couldn't even get me home for my anniversary even though I told them to schedule it the day I went out. If you push hard enough they will try to get you back in 2 weeks, but they let you know they don't like it. Maybe other fleet managers are better about it, I don't know. This just wasn't working for family life (been married about 3 years). Finally figured out that this is the nature of the trucking industry, not WSE, though I think WSE could have been more up front during the recruiting process especially since I was a first time driver.

Didn't answer your other question frank81. Sorry about that. I would usually get between 2 and3k weekly. Didn't have much of a problem from Shaw's end getting loads except weekends in certain places. Stuck in Atlanta without a load for a weekend, and when I was with my trainer, his son died, and they couldn't get a load for him out of Georgia for the whole weekend. Left him grieving in the truck for 2 days, if you can believe that. Thought they could deadhead him a few more miles or something. But other than that, they were pushing me pretty hard. I was getting more short runs than I would have liked, but I still managed to get 2 to 3 k a week. Most delays were shippers and receivers fault.

My husnand works for them now. He's been working for them since before we meet and things have really gone down hill with them. They do'nt have the freight that they use to..The pay SUCKS,so does the benefits. They use to have saftey awards but they stopped that. The lay over pay use to be really good now it's only 25 dollars a day.WTF.

I honestly don't understand that comment about not enough freight. My fleet manager has been running me to death of late. I did spend the day in Miami Tuesday because of no freight coming out of there, but I needed the time to rest and pay off some of my sleep debt. As I type this I am 3 hours from my next delivery with a 1000+ trip pre plan for the weekend. I hope your husband can get more miles, because from my vantage point there seems to be plenty right now.
