Around 8am, Easter Sunday 2009 got rear-ended HARD by a drunk after finished delivery while waiting at a traffic light. Was on the phone calling 911 before both feet were on the ground. Volunteer fire dept, but they had an engine with 6 guys aboard on scene in 7 minutes. Took over 6 hrs for investigation, was a total fiasco. Just notified that company & I are being sued. Going to be interesting.

Sued? For what? Being at the wrong place at the wrong time? What harebrained lawyer is dumb enough to defend a drunk drive er during for a wreck he caused? And last I checked if you rear end someone it is usually your fault. Keep us posted...I'd love to see where that case goes! -
Anybody can be sued for anything. To some degree, this is a suit about something that happened 40+ yrs ago between the deceased & the company I work for. So far, we've been served requesting vehicle inspections on tractor/trailer & log books going back 6 mos prior to accident.
Keep in mind, it will cost the company a min of $15,000 to retain an attorney to defend it, lots of times the plaintiff & their slimeball attorney go for that amount & walk away. -
The deep pockets puts a cost value on all lawsuits. We had a driver that was getting on the interstate and a car came over and hit the trailer. The driver in the car admitted to the police he feel asleep. His insurance try to sue us because they knew the cutoff was $75,000. The big shots said NO MORE and the case was dropped. That happened in 2006.

I sued the idiot that ran a red light and hit me a few years ago. Beer and weed found in car...BUT, he had great insurance..SO I sued him. And I won in Orange County Superior. Didn't get wealthy but it was enough to pay my pool off..

I've even seen a billboard that advertises sueing other lawyers. I bet that guy doesn't get invited to many pool parties!
