If you like teaming up with a total stranger in a place not even big enough for one person.....

And you like paying for tolls out of your pocket and being charged fees from ATMs and Comdata to withdraw money for the company's tolls......

If you like being spoken to like you are just a number.............

If you like stopping at every single open weight station.......

    Then join CRST.....

    You can have them....

    Peace

I'm glad now that they flaked on me over sleep apnea. Did all they required of me to satisfy their requirements and then they didn't even have the decency to return my calls with approval or not! Worked out to my benefit!

Teaming isn't fun, but they are hardly the only company that runs teams.

Learn to use comchecks and get money when you fuel..no fee. Even if you pay the fee, the fee is cheaper than an ATM at a truckstop. Can't really blame them for no EZ Pass, it would be abused. They run you around the tolls as much as possible anyway, except on the tight transit loads..and obviously NYC.

Unfortunate, sounds like a bad FM. Went through that, luckily he got fired..now I have a good one...trust me you run hard and they get to know you..

Product of a bad CSA score, unfortunately. I usually get the bypass though so its not so bad.

    @ fatdaddy,

What do comchecks have to do with tolls? You can't pay a toll with a comcheck. I rarely see cash advances offered at the pump anymore. Back in the days you would request it at the pump and then go inside to collect the money. I have been away from trucking for a few years. How do they do it now? They also charge a wire charge if you request a cash advance over the phone. For example if your truck breaks down far away from a terminal and you need a hotel they charge this $4.00 wire charge if you request it over the phone. The first one you can request from the truck. Then for the second night you have to call them because you are away from the truck. I think I was told that I could be reimbursed on this charge but now I have to find out how. A penny here and there adds up. My contract ends in March and I am counting the days.

    CRST still sucks,

    thanks

He is saying that you can get a comcheck cashedfor no charge when you buy fuel. That is how yiou save on ATM fees if you need to get money out for tolss or whatever. You can't get an advance at the pump with CRST.

What I used to do is get and advance for the toll amount. There is no fee if the advance is for a truck expense. That way no money came out of my pocket.

The company I'm with now has EZPass, Sun Pass, KTag, etc and I have to say it's a lot less hassle.

It's unsafe because you never really get enough rest having to sleep while truck in motion. Plus .22 cpm is an avg of $250 week. Includes breakdowns and the usual stuff.
