That would work great. I'm about 15 miles from Reed City. Sounds like I need to talk with a Prime recruiter. I tried calling over there earlier but I was on hold forever and kept getting the infernal "all associates are busy" message so I gave up and figured I'd try again later.

Just submit an application online, and you will get a call in the next few days.

Have fun with the yogurt lol. As a tnt trainee I dropped in Grand Rapids. Went to Michigan a few times actually. Don't count on a trainer turning you loose after only 30,000 miles. Most refuse. Not enough time, I agree. I went through the entire program starting in May. Got my truck in October. Though I did 50,000 miles in tnt, then 30 more days with a flatbed trainer.

I don't so much mind being with a trainer for a while as much as I want to get the CDL portion finished in a decent amount of time (ie. 2-3 weeks) so I start actually earning a paycheck. Gotta keep the wolves at bay. I do want to run solo and look forward to when that happens, but working with a trainer and getting paid is all good, assuming I get a decent trainer. Any of you all have an open spot on your truck for me??

Is that yard somewhere north of the Burger King on 220th? I see Prime trucks in and out of that little truck stop all the time. I've thought about stopping in and chatting with some of the drivers, but didn't want to disturb them if they were sleeping or something.

Just look for someone with some Prime logo gear on in the truckstop, and strike up a conversation. The drop yard is up past the little church - we're leasing some space.

I got my CDL from a very good private school, then started with Prime for training. They offered good one-on-one instruction, and lots of classroom time. I feel that the Prime PSD folks were much better prepared to drive than I was, but I had some knowledge they didn't. Bottom line is that commercial schools really only get you to the point that allows you to pass a driving test, and charge you thousands of dollars for that. If I was doing it again, I'd go the PSD route.

I would say that Prime has one of the best training programs there is and pays pretty good while your training once you get your CDL.
