It's not owned by CR England.., it came out of a fight that Jeff England had with his brother and Father about how CR England was run and he started his own company... the name PRIDE is kind of an "on your face" type of thing he's got going with his brother.
Actually, Prime is also a company where for every complaint there are 3 or 4 people who come back with SPECIFIC reasons why that person might have not gotten paid, etc, etc... and it's not always the SAME 4 people.
You cannot say that out of WERNER, KNIGHT, CRE, and MANY others...

It is going to be a little tough to get hired for me because I take a mood stabilizer and an antidepressant -- I have been thinking of going off them, and it would not be such a big deal, but I just feel so much better with them... I'm still debating.

Why would you consider going off your meds if they "make you feel so much better"?....are you crazy or something:biggrin_2554:

Health & well-being trump driving a truck & everything else. Stay healthy...somebody now or will depends on this.

Please don't get me started on prime, their drivers are brainwashed by fake numbers to think that they aren't getting screwed.

I hear you... what makes sense is to simply disclose the truth and if I don't get hired by a decent company... let it go... so be it!

I could use the change real bad, though... I am so sick of being chained to a telephone and barely making any money (nowadays), and I live alone with no family and have had the itching to drive a rig for a while now... so, that is why the stupidity gets in my head...

I can't think of a company where you cannot gross an average over the entire year of $700 if that is your goal. I set mine, after figuring a budget out, of $750 before taxes. Most don't do this and get all wigged out when they get a check of $600 gross and don't take the time to look at the last 4 checks for an average. Everyone has bad weeks, it's part of driving. Remember to average it out over several weeks to get a true picture.

My present gig has me home on the weekends and most nights during the week and I averaged $860/week. Some weeks were $500 where I felt like I was spinning my wheels and some were over $1000 where everything went good. I also got a mileage bonus and Christmas bonus (remember to figure these in but don't count on them unless they are paid monthly) so made about $45,000.

Remember, its the long picture of a few months average and whether or not you like your job and what you are doing that counts.

Reefer seems to be a better deal for O/O than company drivers due to the rate of pay for the load and the steady business of food delivery. Fewer ups and downs in volume. Waiting time is a given for this type of operation so if your a very impatient person this section of the business will drive you up a wall and isn't for you.

What little reefer freight we have is now going on trains. I can't tell you how many o/os have went reefer and failed miserably. There may be 2 guys that do well but they both live around mfld and get special treatment. If your gonna lease to roehl dry van is the place to be. Trust me. And flatbed is almost as bad as reefer, my best friend went from van to flat, got screwed for 2 months and switched back.
